Third Person POV

Damiano had almost gotten the kids to bed. Almost being the keyword, right before all the power went off in his house. The only kids who could sleep without a nightlight were Enzo, Rocco, Gi and Tino, but they weren't going to go to bed. No, they were making the most of this time to torture their younger siblings.

"Dada, are the monsters really going to come and get me?" A seven-year-old Carlo asked from where he'd clung himself onto his father's leg. Damiano had somehow walked down the hallway with Carlo hanging off him like that, but he was getting cramp. Hence why he swept Carlo up into his arms.

"No, they're not, Carlo. Tino's just being mean." Damiano cooed, propping Carlo up on his left hip. So then with his other hand, he could reach out and hit Tino across the back of the head, from where Tino was walking in front of them.

"We'll just tell all the monsters to go eat Rocco, Carlo. They'll listen to us." A seven-year-old Chiara said fearlessly, bouncing alongside Tino, heading in the direction of the living room. Tino reached out to grab her hand, helping her down the stairs in the dark.

"There are no monsters, Chiara. No one will be eaten tonight, I promise you." Damiano said calmly, leading the two kids, plus the 15-year-old 'adult' Tino claimed to be, into the living room. Where the other four were waiting, well Gi and Rocco were wrestling.

"Dad! Rocco said that the monsters are going to come and get us." An eight-year-old Bruno cried the second he laid eyes on his Dad, waking up his twin brother from where he'd dozed off beside him.

"There are no monsters, Bruno." Chiara swiftly responded before her father could, "Plus, Rocco's being a little bitch. He's a liar." Chiara scoffed, making Rocco pull away from his fight with Gi.

"Dad! Did you hear that? I'm not allowed to say those words, so why can she?!" A nine-year-old Rocco cried out. Damiano had to pause and take a deep breath, Rosalia was on a night out with Giulia and Isabella, and he couldn't call her home early because of this. But he was tired, so beyond tired.

"Chiara, you know you're not allowed to say those words." Damiano said calmly. He tried to put Carlo on the couch next to where she'd settled down, but Carlo had firmly attached himself to his father. There was no chance he was letting go, especially when there could be a monster running around.

"But Tino says them." She swiftly responded. She may only be seven years old, but Damiano swore she had the attitude of a seventeen-year-old. Sometimes it was even worse than Gi's weird teen moody phase he was going through.

"Well, Tino shouldn't be saying them, and he's going to get in trouble for saying them. But just because Tino's saying them, doesn't mean you should be saying them." Damiano said, shooting daggers in Tino's direction.

Chiara was ready to respond, probably with something snarky, but the lights slightly flickered, causing everyone in the room to freeze. Even at the 'big' age Tino was, lights flickering still gave him the chills.

"I'll go check the fuse box." Damiano muttered, pushing Carlo further up his hip accepting that he was going to have to come with him. He was seven years old, Carlo and Chiara refused to be carried around anywhere, or even spend too much time with their parents. Damiano secretly missed it, so he wasn't exactly complaining that his youngest son wanted to be near him right now.
