No one tells you what to expect from life. They try but no one ever really hits the nail on the head. So that's what leads to emotions like sad, anxious, scared and worried. The emotions that are on the dark side of the spectrum.
There's no kit that gets handed to you when something goes wrong, when a loved one dies, when your car brakes down on the way to your child's play. No emotional kit that can help you with that.
People everywhere, people right now are having the worse day of their lives. Maybe some are having their best days. But no one lets you know if that's your worst day ever or your best.
I can't even count how many times I've shouted when something amazing has happened, 'this is the best day ever!' Or when a tragedy hits, 'this is the worst day of my life.'
I've said both of those plenty of times. But today, today it's here. The best and worst day of my life.
Cause I, Kaylee McKinley, have never had either of those until this day.

"He's going to be okay though, right?" I cried standing in front of the doctor.
"Yes, he's just come out of surgery it went good. No complications, he'll be fine. He sustained a massive head injury but our top neurosurgeon handled it. He's going to be just fine." He smiled removing the cap from his head.
"Thank you so much." I wrapped my arms around and squeezed him so tight that I probably broke most of his ribs.
"Just doing my job ma'am." He chuckled stepping back. "You can see him in a little bit."
I nodded and walked outside to get some fresh air. I was just about to walk across to the parking lot to get my purse when a car came barreling into the lot stopping right in front of me. A few nurses walked over to the car checking on the driver as I regrouped myself.
I stood back as they pulled them from the car and around the front. "Riley?"
"Oh hey, Kayls. Fancy meeting you here." She smiled, letting out heavy breaths as the nurses put her in a wheelchair.
"W-what are you doing here exactly?" I asked extremely confused.
"Oh I'm in labor." She smiled as the nurses turned her around and rushed her inside.
"I- what!" I rushed in after them trying to keep up with her. "Why didn't you call me? You drove here? Are you out of your mind?!"
"I did, yes and apparently I am!" She laughed before taking in a sharp breath. "Yikes, that hurts a little." She huffed out turning her head to look back at me. "Why are you here?"
"My dad, well not my, well yeah my dad got into a car accident they said he's okay. Riley, do you want me to call Harry?" I asked as they pushed open a door and got her onto a bed.
"Yeah, that'd be great. Tell him to-" She stopped squeezing her eyes shut. "Hurry."
I ran over to the payphone and dialed Niall's number, him picking up after a few rings. "Hey Ni, uh problem, well not big problem. But problem. I'm at the hospital-"
"What are you okay?" His sharp tone cut me off and I sighed.
"Yeah, yeah but I'm here cause of my dad and then I saw Riley and well she's in labor so can you tell Harry to really hurry. Like hurry, hurry." I begged as I could hear her screaming from down the hall.
"Uhm okay yea-"
"Thanks, love you." I slammed the phone down and followed Rileys yelling down the hallway.
