a pirate

The wind howls through the sails of the ship
As it cuts through the waves, rough and thick.
A pirate stands at the helm, a wry grin on his face
His eyes scan the horizon, searching for a new place.

He's weathered many storms, battled many foes
With his wooden leg and eyepatch, he's feared wherever he goes.
A parrot perches on his shoulder, its feathers bright and grand
It squawks and preens, as if to demand.

They've sailed the seven seas, pillaging and plundering
Their treasure trove overflowing, their legend forever thundering.
But beneath the gruff exterior lies a heart that beats true
For this pirate once gave up everything for love, and it's all he knew.

Now he sails with a purpose, seeking redemption and peace
Hoping one day his past sins will finally cease.
For even pirates can find salvation, if they search hard enough
And this one sails into the sunset, his journey a little less rough.

a heart strong and bold, and a crew that knows
He'll do whatever it takes to claim his prize
Treasures untold, he'll never compromise.

His sword is sharp and his aim is true
He's a master of the sea, a pirate through and through.
His tales are legendary, whispered in hushed tones
And those who cross him know they'll never make it home.

But deep down inside, there's more to this man
Than just pillaging and plundering across the land.
There's a longing in his heart for something more
A life beyond the sea, a different shore.

But until that day comes, he'll sail on
With his crew by his side, his spirit never gone.
He's a pirate, through and through
A legend on the sea, forever true.
