AS THE two went up the escalator, hand in hand, the voice on the system spoke.

"Welcome to Oscorp. Born from the mind of our founder, Norman Osborn, the Oscorp Tower houses 108 floors of innovation. Our scientific minds are pushing the boundaries of defense, biomedical, and chemical technologies. The future lies within."

They were soon let out on the second or third floor of the building and Florence was still holding tight to Peters hand.

"Are you okay?" he asked leaning to her ear. She was looking around with a look he could only describe as paranoid. So he squeezed her hand making her look at him. "Flo-"

"Welcome to Oscorp." a voice said. Her voice gathered everyone's attention. "My name's Gwen Stacy."

"No-" Florence let out before she pushed her and Peter behind two taller guys as they both ducked their heads.

"Gwen's here-"

"I know!" she yelled in a whisper.

"I'm a junior at Midtown Science, and i'm also head intern to Dr. Connors." She held her books close to her chest as she spoke directly to the group. Florence's heart was beating at an insane speed, scared she and Peter would get caught. "So, i'll be with you for the duration of your visit.

"Where i go, you go. That's the basic rule. If you remember that, all will be fine." As she was coming to the end of her speech two people started to yell.

"We're the Guevara's! Seriously!"

"My husbands telling the truth!" the woman cried as she was behind walked out behind her screaming husband. "This is ridiculously!"

Peter bit his thumb before rubbing his head. "Well, i guess i don't need to tell you what happens if you forget that. Shall we?" She gave the group a smile. Before they started to walk off, Florence stared at the girl and bit the inside of her cheek before they were escorted away.

"What do we do?" Peter asked once they were a safe distance from everyone else. "She'll get us kicked out if she sees us-"

"No she won't." she interrupted as they continued to walk. "Just don't do anything that will get us caught, okay? Just keep your head down until we can get the doctor alone." she told him.

They soon entered a lab where Gwen told them to gather evenly. People were working on tests and anything they could.

Before they knew it, a man with one arm walked out and greeted Gwen. "Good afternoon, Gwen."

"Dr. Connors." she said with a small smile.

"Welcome. My name is Dr. Curtis Connors." Florence pulled on Peters sleeve to make him look at the man. "And yes, in case you're wondering, i'm a southpaw." he joked. Nearly everyone laughed. Except for Florence who didn't know what he was saying. "I'm not a cripple, i'm a scientist, and i'm the world's foremost authority on herpetology.

"That's reptiles, for those of you who don't know." he continued. "But like the Parkinson's patient who watches on in horror as her body slowly betrays her, or the man with macular degeneration whose eyes grow dimmer each day, i long to fix myself. I want to create a world without weakness. Anyone care to venture a guess just how?" he asked as he walked closer to Gwen.

A guy in the front raised his hand. "Stem cells?"

"Promising. But the solution i'm thinking of is more radical." Connors said. He looked around and no one gave a single word. Peter looked at Florence and she could tell what he was thinking. "No one?"
