Cream and her mother were standing in front of the MistClan camp. It was in a hollow with stone walls, dens made out of brambles, and some inside the stone. A fallen tree lay overtop of the rocks in the front, serving as the entrance. Cats were chatting and eating prey inside, their fur all different colors and patterns.

Cream's mother walked over to the entrance, walked beneath the tree and into the camp. She set Cream down in front of her and meowed to get cats to look her way. The clearing of the camp suddenly became quiet as cats turned their way. One cat stood up from next to a tree at one end of the camp and padded over to Cream and her mother.

The cat was a dark brown tom with darker brown markings. He stared at Cream's mother through narrowed eyes before speaking. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

Cream's mother kept a straight face and responded with flattened ears. "You don't need to know anything except that I'm trying to find a good home for my kit."

"How about with your Twolegs?" The tom snarled.

"Me and Cream left Twolegs to look for a home." Cream heard her mother hiss, but she knew that wasn't true.

The tom glared at her. "A loner, eh? No loners are allowed in my Clan."

Cream looked up at her mother worriedly. She was glaring back at the tom and let out a growl. "I want my kit to be raised here because it's not safe for her to be with me."

A blue and gray cat ran over to Cream and her mother. It was a she-cat who looked down at Cream fondly, except Cream didn't even know this cat. But she did look friendly. The she-cat turned to the brown tom. "Acornstar, please. It's just a young kit. I don't think she's even a moon old."

"That's because she's not. She's a half-moon old." Cream's mother looked at the she-cat. "And her name's Cream. I just need someone to take care of her."

The she-cat dipped her head to Cream's mother. "What a pretty name. I'll gladly take care of her, if Acornstar let's me." She cast a glance at the tom.

The tom, Acornstar, growled softly before giving a nod. "Fine. I'll take her in, but only because she's a kit. You won't be staying, though." He thrust his muzzle in Cream's mother's face.

"I don't wish to," she mewed calmy. She crouched down besides Cream who looked at her mother sadly. "I need to go, little Cream. You'll be safe here, I promise." She nuzzled her kit gently and Cream wrapped her paws around her mom's muzzle. She pulled her head away and turned to walk out of the camp. A few seconds later, her bushy tail was out of the camp and back in the forest.

The she-cat picked up Cream gently and started walking towards one of the dens in the stone wall. It had brambles and moss on the outside and nests made of moss and feathers on the inside. Cream was set down in a nest and the she-cat laid down next to her. Cream smelled milk and started to suckle.

"Creamkit," the she-cat purred. A brown tom walked into the den a moment later and padded over to the she-cat and Cream.

"Who's this?" His mew was deep but sweet and Cream looked over at him.

The she-cat smiled and stroked Creamkit's head with her tail. "Aloeheart, meet Creamkit. Creamkit, this is Aloeheart." Creamkit waddled over to the tom named Aloeheart and hugged his paw. Aloeheart smiled and set Creamkit down by the she-cat again.

"Where'd she come from?" He nuzzled the she-cat lovingly.

"A loner left her here, so I said I'd take care of her," she purred. She looked down at Creamkit happily and licked her. "I'm Rainspeck, little kit."

Creamkit squeaked happily. Rainspeck and Aloeheart. Were those Clan names? She guessed so.

Two more cats entered the den, a silver tabby tom and a white she-cat. The silver tom smelled weird, and the she-cat sat down in a nest near Rainspeck. Her belly looked a tiny bit swollen, and the tom looked at Rainspeck and Aloeheart. "You'll be having company for the next few moons." He purred before leaving the den.

"That was Silverleaf," Aloeheart mewed to Creamkit. "He's a medicine cat. And that's Lilypurr." He pointed to the she-cat who was now asleep in the nest she had sat in. Creamkit nodded and noted that for later.

"Do you want to meet more cats later?" Rainspeck mewed, looking at Creamkit. Creamkit gave an excited nod and squeaked. Rainspeck purred. "Aloeheart will show you more cats later, or maybe tomorrow. You must be tired, though."

Creamkit shook her head. She wanted to meet more cats right now! But a tiny yawn gave her sleepiness away and Rainspeck pulled her closer to her belly. Creamkit curled up into a fluffy little ball beside Rainspeck and feel asleep a little bit later.
