Chapter one: Return

Liza's Point of View

Hi guys, my name is Elizabeth Salvatore I have an older supportive brother named Damon and a younger egotistical "goody-two shoes" brother named Stefan, for the last decade I have been keeping tabs on my brothers and I just found out that they are in the same place, our home Mystic Falls, the home of the doppelgänger, now here I am driving back from Paris back to Virginia, the only person that knows I'm returning is a local boy named Jeremy Gilbert, I met him when Stefan was here to save the latest doppelgänger from a car accident, I was there for him because I know what it feels like when your family abandons you and the only person you can rely on is yourself. I drive past the Mystic falls welcome sign and I pull over and call Jeremy

"Hello" he answers as he picks up the phone

"Hey it's me just wanted to let you know I was here, you busy?" I asked

"Alright and no I'm not busy just in my room my window is open just come on in when you get here" he said to me I said

"Alright then we can go surprise my dimwit brother" I say as I start to drive again

"Ok Lizzie see you soon" he says as I continue driving

"Yeah see ya" I say as I hang up the phone and drive through the town that I despised for a long time, as I pulled up to the Gilbert residence
Yes I know all about the latest doppelgänger and the fact the Katherine's not even in the tomb thanks to Emily , I also know about the newly discovered witch little Bonnie Bennett and her grandmother I totally despise witches

I park my car in the woods behind the Gilbert house and I go to Jeremy's window and jump up and knock

He jumps I roll my eyes as he looks at me

"Hey come on in" he invites me in and I blink through his window as he comes over and hugs me I hug back then I go to lay on his bed

"I'm sorry I left after the funeral I couldn't stay if Stefan knew I was here he would try to get me to leave, Try to get me on the same blood diet he's on which is animals, or worse kill me like he killed Giuseppe the day he woke up from Katherine turning all of us" I told him

"Lizzie it's fine I understand " he said smiling at me

"Oh yeah I have something for you" I said as I gave him a hunters necklace

"Thank you where'd you get it" he asked me

"It belonged to a friend of mine, his youngest brother had it before he passed and he gave it to me" I said

"Do you miss him?" Jeremy asked me

"Everyday" I said referring to Klaus's little brother Henrik it hurt hearing what happened to him , I blamed Nik for a long time but deep down I know it wasn't his fault

"Who's your guardian now " I asked

"My aunt Jenna " Jeremy said I nodded as he went back to drawing

I looked around his room and saw pictures of my two brothers, the original family I gave him and his recent ghost girlfriend Anna

"Do you still talk to her?" I asked

"Not as much as I used to ever since Bonnie sent them back to the other side" he said

"See this is why I absolutely hate witches they think just because of what they are they know better or are better then everyone else" I said

I looked at Jeremy "so little one are you ready to have some fun and don't worry I'll be with you every step of the way" I told him smiling he nodded
