Subject: Bookshelves

Dearest Dahlia,

I know how much you love books and the world that come along with them so.....

I decided to invest in a bookshelf. Since you're not around anymore, I decided to pick up one of your numerous hobbies, so I picked reading! You would be disappointed in me if the shelf it wasn't from IKEA, so I got a white Billy bookshelf. It's in the living room, standing opposite a window which illuminates the book spines with golden light in the evenings. Just looking at it makes me want to curl up and dive into a book. The shelf is only half full but I am determined to fill it with loads of interesting fiction (maybe a little non-fiction too), but fiction was your favourite. I didn't take any books that you left behind at home, they still sit upon the shelves collecting a thick layer of dust. All the furniture of your room is still in the same place because Dad has refused to touch it.

He is finding it extremely hard to move on,

it's been a year since you left but we both still miss you.

We haven't forgotten.
