Amanda looked unusually bad. Her hair, which she combed at least 7 times a day (she learned that it is best if you comb your hair exactly 7 from one shitty beauty site, which she blindly admired for some kind of reason) now was a big mess. She had tried to put it in place by putting it in a ponytail but had miserably failed. The hair was really tangled and not even a percent as shiny as its usual form.

But the hair was the least problem. She had enormously big dark circles under her eyes, making ours look like nothing. Her eyes were all red and watery. A thing that really shocked me was that she wasn't wearing any makeup. Almost never had I seen her without makeup. Even after a long night spend in activities in the bed or an extreme workout, which she was doing in order to keep her body in the perfect shape, or a long day on the beach, she never was without it. The only time I had seen her was once when I decided to surprise her by going through her window at 6am (just when she wakes up every day). However, she wasn't happy at all, she was furious and kicked me out of the room, hiding her face almost all the time. I don't know what really terrified her from her boyfriend seeing her natural face but it really empowered her and she was quickly and easily able to literally throw me out of her window. Thanks God, her room was only 2-3 meters from the ground and the falling wasn't that painful.

So, judging from that case, she would have never wanted anybody to see her face without makeup and now she was walking like this in where almost the whole school was. She wasn't alone though. One of her friends, Hannah, was with her, holding her hand and in a way supporting her body. The whole view was rather weird.

Naturally, the whole café went all quite and everyone stared at the two girls, some quietly whispering something to the person next to them. Amanda Sparks, a main cheerleader, one of the towns most popular girls, who many feared and obeyed, was now looking pathetic and weak. What a triumphant moment to all people that loathed her (almost everybody).

After a half a minute of staring and awkwardness, there was a sudden moment of realization and almost everyone turned to what the reason for her misery possibly was. Me.

Suddenly everybody was looking at me-probably trying to see what my reaction is-do I feel guilt or remorse or do I enjoy the whole situation. Their whispers were getting louder and I could distinguish some of the things they were saying.

"Look what he done, poor Amanda, she definitely doesn't deserve him."

"He really looks as if he never loved her."

"That bitch Amanda totally deserves this"

"Did they break up? Wow!"

"Look how cute Wes is next to him, omg"

"I knew he was an asshole since the rape story with Daisy!"

"Amanda is so ugly without makeup though."

Everything was awkward, for both of us. Amanda was staying there, just blankly staring at something. Hannah looked confused and was unable to do anything. Luckily, Phil got us out of the situation by saying:

"Let's go for a walk"

Being overly happy that he proposed this, I quickly nodded and stand up. We went out of the café, leaving Amanda and her friend behind us. They didn't change their positions at all.

"Wow! What has happened to Amanda, Eth? I thought that she was going to be exaggerating about how sad she is but that was real. I've never seen her looking so bad, like seriously-she had no makeup and that was woah, no wonder why she puts so much on a regular basis.." Wes started.

"Wes shut the fuck up. Now, Eth, you seriously have to apologize to her-it seems like you have broken her heart. That thing with Daisy, I would have never thought that I will get to her but..."

"I don't think that I am the problem." I simply said.

"What?" Phil sounded a bit confused.

"I don't know. When I figure it out, I will tell you."

"Woo hoo, Ethan playing it mysterious and secretive. Okay, Sherlock, please let us stupid people know when you solve the mystery." Wes laughed.

While talking and joking around, we passed next to the graveyard. And though the girl that I met there was at the bottom of my importance list, I felt temptation to go inside it and see if she is there. There was just something so memorable and mesmerizing about her. Her clothes, her position, the way she acted and her sudden disappearance.

I knew that this was a stupid and ridiculous idea and that Wes and Phil will probably laugh at me and conclude that I have gone crazy. But I couldn't resist. Maybe she will tell me why she left like that and I will apologize. Maybe that is exactly what I needed-to spend time with someone who is not aware of my problems and dramas. She looked like a nice girl but judging from her behavior, I didn't think that she will have many friends. So a little socializing wouldn't hurt I guess.

I easily tricked my friends that I have work now and that by passing the graveyard I will get faster (I made it look as if it is my newest discovery and although they looked unsure that it is faster indeed, they let me go.)

I knew that I wasn't probably going to meet her but taking into account that I didn't have anything else to do, I decided to give it a try.
