Sanji laid in bed, thinking. Everyone was asleep. He stared into space trying to sort out his thoughts.
No matter how much he explains it I still can't bring myself to understand why he saved me. And then continued to help me through my stress. I just don't understand. He never really hated me? That's insane. But it's true. Why? I asked that too many times. What's wrong with me? He's so kind to me I can't stop thinking about him. I thought we were enemies but now I guess we're friends? I'm not sure I like to think of it that way. I wanna be more than that..but not in a weird way.
This is stupid.
I don't want things to change.
Right?
Maybe I can sort things out with him tomorrow. I mean I can talk to him now, without arguing. I like that.
Sanji slowly drifted into sleep, hoping he could sort things out and try to figure out what he's feeling.
1am
Sanji woke up, confused. He thought it was morning, he sat up and realized everyone was still in bed and it was darker than usual.
Well, everyone was in bed except Zoro.
He thought nothing of it, but got up to double check if it wasn't morning.
He walked out of the locker room, holding on to the wall to keep his balance. Though his legs were feeling a little better, it was still hard to walk.
Sure enough, the stars were still out in the dark blue sky. The moon was as bright as it was the night before.
Why am I awake? It's like 1am. Whatever, I'll just get some water and watch the stars for a bit.
He walked into the kitchen, and noticed Zoro there as well. Standing by the counter with a glass of water.
"What are you doing up?" Zoro asked, looking at him.
"I could say the same about you." Sanji replied, walking over to him and grabbing a glass.
"I have no idea, I just woke up early I guess." Zoro said.
"Same here, I'm tired but I'm not asleep. I'm not having any anxiety at all so it's not that." Said Sanji, filling up his glass with water.
"Hm..well, I was gonna go watch the stars, wanna come with?" Zoro asked.
"Strange, that's what I was gonna do." Sanji replied with a small laugh.
Zoro smiled.
Sanji drank the last of his water and walked outside with Zoro.
Zoro noticed that Sanji still had troubles keeping his balance, so he kept in eye on him until they got outside.
Once they did, they sat beside each other on the floor, leaned against the wall. Looking out.
They watched them for a while, they didn't speak.
But soon Zoro fell asleep.
"Zoro?" Sanji said.
He got no answer.
He paused. Then took a short breath.
"I love you." He said quietly, then leaned on his shoulder and continued to stare at the stars until he fell asleep as well.
The next morning
Sanji and Zoro woke up at the same time. At about 6am. But stayed in the same position.
Zoro looked down at Sanji who was resting on his shoulder.
Zoro felt his face getting warm.
Looks like we stayed together for the rest of the night.
..
He's so pretty.
Zoro put his arm around Sanji, waiting for him to wake up.
When Sanji woke up, he didn't move. But he spoke.
"Good morning mossy." He said.
Zoro likes that nickname.
He looked at Sanji.
"Good morning, how are you feeling?" Zoro asked.
"Better. My legs still feel a little numb but I think I should be fine within a couple hours." Sanji replied.
"I should probably get started on breakfast though."
"Alright, I'll be in the locker room getting ready." Zoro said, as he stood up.
He held his hand out to Sanji.
Sanji kind of just, stared at him. He had another one of those moments, just wondering why he was being so nice.
He took his hand and Zoro pulled him up.
