The dark clouds of Fontaine scattered around the sky. Rain started to trickle in, getting heavier by the second. Despite this, I wanted to meet Cheryle by the fountain in the city center. That fountain radiated with true elegance, reflecting even the Hydro Archon, Focalors, herself.

"Hey Zepherlyn! Over here!"

I see a short, ecstatic girl waving her arms in the air, drenched in rainwater. It was Cheryle, her pyro vision glistening on this dark, dreary day.

"Zepherlyn, you're so slow! You don't want to stay out here like a wet sausage now do you?"

I rolled my eyes, ignoring her weird phrasing.

"Yeah, yeah let's just go to school, okay?"

The walk there was quiet and awkward, it would've been dead silent if it wasn't for the constant pitter-patter of the rain. I stared at Cheryle's vision, captivated by its unique crimson hue.

Cheryle then spoke up, breaking the awkward tension.

"Totally unrelated by the way, but what are you planning on doing after you graduate? There's only 2 weeks left you know."

I stared at her with emotional eyes. "Isn't it obvious? I'm studying to work under the Fontaine court, to judge and execute those unworthy humans."

Cheryle looked surprised, almost frightened at my sudden remark and my unnerving appearance towards her. She smiled back however, trying to ignore my scary presence.

"Uhm, are you sure that's what you truly want to do Zepherlyn..?"

She then sighed and looked up towards the dark rainclouds.

"As kids we were so much happier, especially you Zepherlyn. What happened to you now? Ever since you advanced to the accelerated classes, you become much colder and hateful. What happened? I just want to know why... I thought that smile from you yesterday might've been proof you were still the joyful girl I knew, but I guess I was wrong..."

She then started to tear up. My eyes widened; I couldn't help but feel bad for her. 'She's right. Why was I like this?' I tried to think, think about what happened all those years ago. I removed all thoughts of the judicial system out my brain for now. Cheryle is more important.
