My new outfit Cheryle suggested felt tight and impractical; however, it suited the look with my newfound vision and Fontaine origin. "Why did Cheryle wear clothes like this?" This was something I could never understand. My bag was full of equipment and food suitable to survive in the wilderness.
At this point my Black Tassel was rusty and worn out, close to shattering. I knew I had to get a new spear forged, however the local blacksmith was on break the entire week. I simply just needed to find another blacksmith from another nation, it shouldn't be too hard.
I walked out of my house, ready for my upcoming adventure. At this point, I've only walked a few paces but was already at the border of Fontaine. Over the cliff, I could see Liyue. The mountaintops stretched outwards like I've never seen before, the beautiful topaz-coloured autumn trees shifting back and forth, carried by the wind. I haven't even stepped foot in Liyue, yet I could sense the true beauty of its terrane. I jumped down, whipping out my wind glider to search for my landing zone.
I set my eyes on a humble looking village. However, I was only able to land onto the nearby field. My stamina was running low, I had no other choice. On my way, I saw a man crouched down, yelling for help. Surrounding him were slimes, the large and the small kind. The grass underneath them caught fire. Luckily, it wasn't spreading. The man's gaze then befell me, a smile of reassurance.
"Oh thank goodness a vision holder! Please, you've got to help me! I was just picking some berries when-"
I couldn't hear the rest of his words, I simply walked by the unfortunate situation. "Those were slimes. Even if he couldn't fight them off, he could surely run from them. But..." I stopped in my tracks. "No... This wasn't the right thing to do. If I truly wanted to change, this would be the start".
I rushed back to the situation; the man was practically at his knees. Unconscious maybe. I infused the power of cyro into my spear, ready to strike. The pyro slimes looked alarmed. The smaller ones attempted to escape, while the larger ones bounced up, trying its best to crush me underneath their huge body. "Disintegrate!" I struck the pyro slime, making sure its body was deflamed before attempting to destroy it. "Hyah!" By now, four- no five slimes have exploded under my wrath, leaving nothing but slime condensate covering the field.
As I ran to check up on the man, he opened his eyes and smiled, whispering a faint "Thank you". He then passed out. His clothes were semi burnt, with small burn marks covering his body. I knew I had to take him to the village with me. I carried his heavy body on the way, while infusing a bit of cyro into him making sure the burns didn't get any more serious.
I carefully made sure not to cause any ice spikes to form into his body however, I'd practically be killing him then. My expression now was neither worried nor sad, just nothing. I knew I had the responsibility to care for him, however, my limited relationship towards him didn't give me a care in the world what happened to him next, whether it was good or bad.
Ahead was a stream and a small mountain for me to climb before I could reach the village "Liyue is beautiful and all, but why'd there have to be so much climbing to actually go somewhere?" I walked through the stream, unfortunately getting my heels wet. As I had a look around at the scenery, I noticed a Hydro Fatui Skirmisher lurking nearby. "I've heard about rumours of the Fatui, suspicious activity has been going on in that organisation lately. I wonder what malicious activity he's up to..."
I hid behind a rather skinny tree, but it was the only option I had. Hiding had additionally been more difficult while carrying a full-grown adult in my arms. I closely observed his actions, and what I saw was unexpected. He was... Picking berries? Bright yellow plump berries were on a faraway bush, the big guy seemed to hum happily as he was picking them. My face turned bright red, embarrassed by my previous thought of a guy like him planning something malicious.
