A couple days later when the group hangout and the fake date were to take place, the plan paid off before Rin had even left the house. He was just finishing getting dressed when Sae barged into his room and stood near the doorway. Sae seemed surprised by something. Enough to raise his eyebrows anyways.

"What do you want?" Rin asked without looking up.

"Are you going to Shibuya today?" he asked him.

"No," Rin answered. "I've spent more than enough time with those losers."

"I figured," Sae said.

"So, fuck off," Rin said, before realizing why Sae had asked him this. "Wait, are you?"

Sae shrugged. "Isagi wants to go. I can be a good sport sometimes."

"Gross," Rin said. "Not to mention a lie."

"Where are you going, then?" Sae asked.

"None of your fucking business," Rin said. "Get out of my room."

"Whatever, Rin," Sae said, backing up towards the door. "Shall I tell Bachira that you miss him when I see him?"

"I can tell him myself," Rin said. "When I see him."

"Huh?"

Sae hadn't been expecting that. Rin felt extremely triumphant in this moment.

"Not that it's any of your business," Rin repeated. "But that's where I'm going."

"Where?" Sae asked. Rin didn't bother responding, and instead flashed his brother a look that was both not Shibuya and none of your business. Sae shot back his own look. "You're going somewhere just the two of you?"

"Yeah," Rin said, like that should have been obvious.

"What are you two doing?" Sae asked.

"None of your business," Rin said again.

Sae was already standing in the doorway, so it didn't take much effort to shove him into the hallway. He gave him yet another unimpressed look, but Rin cherished it like a victory trophy.

"Get out of my room," Rin said, closing the door behind him.

Once Sae was on the other side of it, Rin smiled to himself. Sae could pretend to be a good sport all he wanted, Rin thought, but I am a good fake boyfriend.

Rin didn't consider himself very romantic. Actually, most of his fake boyfriend internet research made him want to puke more than it made him feel confident. But he'd gotten the date planned, which was the important part anyways. They were going to lunch at this spot Rin liked, so he could make sure Bachira was actually eating, and then they were going to walk around at the botanical gardens because it was nearby, there would be lots to look at and talk about should they need the distraction, and it was pretty much the lamest place Rin could think of, so the chance of running into anyone they knew was low.

The plan was to meet at the restaurant, but Rin knew thanks to a rather apologetic text that Bachira was taking the train and that he was running late, so when he got to the station, he decided to wait for him.

Bachira didn't notice Rin standing there. He was clearly in a rush and ran right by him and out of the station.

"Hey!" Rin called out before he got too far.

Bachira turned around, recognizing the voice but obviously very surprised to find him standing there. "Rin-chan! What are you doing here?"

"I waited for you," Rin said, like that should have been obvious.
