You run as fast as you can, determinant to get away from the hunter as quickly as possible. You silently thank the endless training of the last few weeks, though you cursed at it less then an hour ago.
When you finally feel like you can't go any further, you lean against a tree, gazing around, afraid the hunter might be close.
When you see no sign of them, you close your eyes for a brief second, trying to catch your breath.
You hear the sound of a twig snapping, and you lift your head slowly, knowing a quick movement only catches the eye. Several noises come from a bush close by. You hold your breath, panic rising up inside your stomach, making you feel sick.
The noise comes closer and closer, until finally something stumbles out. You widen your eyes, the panic quickly fading as you see a bunny, clearly injured at it's leg.Your gaze softens as you make your way towards it, before haltering.
''Everything can be a trap, (Y/N), everything'', your mentors words echo in your head. You frown, looking down at the bunny, its white, soft coat just longing to be pet. You sigh, taking a quick step forward, picking up the bunny before sprinting away, too scared to look behind. You pause when you reach a lake, hesitant to step out of the safety of the woods, before looking down at the bunny in your arms. The wound at its leg looked pretty bad, blood soaking its white coat. You frown once again, carefully listening for any type of noise, before sprinting towards the lake.
Fortunately, you reach it safely, slightly out of breath. You look around once more before starting to wash the bunny's injured leg. When it was finally clean, you rip off a part of your forest green clothe, winding it around the wound.
Noticing it was starting to get dark, you turn around and flee into the woods again, holding the bunny tightly against your chest.
You only stop when you find a berry bush, quickly inspecting it before clarifying them as eatable. You rip of some of the branches, taking as many as possible, as you'd never know when you'd find food again.
It was now completely dark, and your mind started to be crowded with dark thoughts.
''What if the hunter was looking at you right now?''
''You can't run forever, you'll get tired soon enough. And then the hunter will get you.''
Every sound making you flinch as you run, not daring to look back.Eventually you reach a big oak tree, its roots thick and heavy. You narrow your eyes, noticing a small gap between a few of them. You quickly glance around before making your way inside, your muscles protesting painfully. You let yourself lay down with a groan, letting go of the bunny, which you now call Snow for some reason. After a quick inspection at the wound you nod approvingly, seeing the fabric not even soaked. You rest your head on your arm, quickly falling asleep.
You wake up at a bright light shining in your eyes. You narrow your eyes and groan. Your hands search around for something, a fluffy something in particular. You open your eyes as you can't find it. That's when you notice something. You sit straight up, your eyes widened in shock.
Before you is sitting a boy, around the same age as you. He has white fluffy hair and blue piercing eyes.
''You took quite the risk saving me there,'' the boy said to you, inspecting you. He looks friendly to you, yet you're unsure if you can trust him.
''When?'' You ask confused, not remembering saving a boy. And definitely not such handsome boy. You shake the thought away.
[YES YOU ARE GAY, DEAL WITH IT HAHAHA]
You inspect the boy, letting out a soft gasp as you see a forest green piece of fabric.
''You're the bunny I saved last night?'' You stuttered, still slightly confused.
The boy nodded, ''If that's what you saw, then yes. I'm Carter by the way, you?''
You hesitate, not knowing if you could trust Carter. He noticed your hesitate, quickly adding: ''Listen, you literally saved me last night, I swear on my life I wouldn't betray you to him.''
You tilt your head slightly, ''him? You mean the hunter? It's a boy?'' For some reason the thought of a boy chasing after you gave you a warm feeling in your stomach. Carter shrugged, ''Yeah, wouldn't get your hopes up though, he's a cruel man.''
You frown, ''who said I was getting my hopes up? Now if you'd excuse me, I need to get away, before the hunter catches me.''
''Wait,'' Carter said, grabbing your wrist as you stand up. You glare at him, ''what.'' You snap, slightly ruder than you meant, but this boy was really getting on your last nerve.
''You never told me your name,'' Carter continued, ignoring your comment as he got up.
''And I probably won't, now leave me alone.'' You say, running away from him.
What you failed to notice, was Carter gazing at you, turning around as you disappear, muttering, ''asshole,'' before disappearing between the trees.~+TIME SKIP TILL TWO DAYS AFTER+~
You creep out off the cave you had been spending the night in, yawning at the lack of sleep. You felt quite proud of yourself for reaching the third day, meaning only two days were left before you'd get an upgrade, such as flint, a dagger, an axe and a bucket.
''All right, better get going before the hunter finds me here.'' You mutter to yourself, quickly checking the cave, making sure you didn't leave anything behind that could be useful for the hunter. Seeing you left nothing, you sprint into the woods, ignoring your protesting muscles.
