[TW: Heavy language, mention of blood]
Humming along to a song you had stuck in your head, you took a quick drink in a small creak you had stumbled across. Before you had been dropped into whatever place this was, you had been doubting your survival skills, but seeing how good you were doing so far your ego had grown. You even felt like you could face the Hunter and not feel scared. Staring at your reflection you noticed a small cut on your face from where your cheek had hit an unexpected twig. Blood dripped down slowly. It wasn't a lot, but as you looked behind you, you could make out small red drips on the ground.
''Gosh danggit.'' You mumbled. At least it gave you an excuse to start moving again. Ripping off a small piece of fabric, you covered the wound, preventing any blood from dripping out.
After finishing, you continued your way in the forest.
~~~~~~
You ran below the trees, your muscles burning as you had been running for at least an hour straight. A sudden thud before you causes you to freeze in your tracks. You hear footsteps coming towards you, and you quickly jump into the nearest tree, your fingerless gloves protecting you from the harsh oak log.
You reached for the lowest branch - which was a few feet above you - settling down quietly. You tried to calm your breath as you gazed downwards.
A figure had stepped out of the forest just as you disappeared in the tree. They looked around. You quickly inspected them. Dirty blonde locks appeared above their brown eyes. A black hoodie matched with dark jeans. You couldn't help but find the man handsome, though you felt your muscles tense at the sight.
The man frowned, turning towards a figure behind him.
"You said they'd be here, have you lied to me?" He said with a deep voice.
"N-no, I really thought they-" A higher voice answered, sounding rather terrified. You didn't blame them, as you also found the man rather scary.
"You thought? I don't need your thoughts, I need facts. I. Need. To. Find. That. Person." He pricked his finger in the others chest on every word. Suddenly you let out a silent gasp. The figure behind the Hunter was Carter.
You furrowed your eyebrows, that traitor. On the other hand, you hadn't been very nice to him. Though he did swear he wouldn't tell the Hunter where you were.
''Screw this.'' You muttered, jumping off the branch gracefully. ''Looking for me?''
The two males looked up. The blonde narrowed his eyes.
''You were right.'' Is all he said, casting Carter a quick glance. The white-haired boy stood trembling on his legs, looking at you with terrified eyes. You didn't meet his gaze; he didn't deserve it. Instead you smirked at the man.
''Come catch me then.'' You said, before running off into the woods. Ducking below branches and jumping over fallen trees and thorn bushes, you increased the distance between you and the man, whom you could hear running after you. You dared to look back, only to see the blonde catching up slowly. God, he was fast, you thought. You glanced over your shoulder once more, before ducking around a tree, climbing it quickly. Gracefully jumping from one branch to another, you made your way over the trees. Gazing downwards every now and then you could see the man following his way through the undergrowth, his straight expression changed into a confused one.
''Down here!'' A voice called. Hold the phone, that wasn't you. A mop of white hair called your eye. Carter. Unless there were more white-haired boys with the same voice as him. you had to admit; he was good at imitating your voice. If it wasn't for the fact that you were the person he was mimicking, you would think it was you as well. The man however didn't know this, and quickly followed.
''That son of a bitch.'' He muttered on his way. It was that sounds flew upwards, otherwise you wouldn't have heard it.
''You're a son of a bitch yourself, motherfucker.'' You muttered under your breath, mentally flipping the blonde off.
~~~~~~
''You're a clever little thing, you know?'' A voice startled behind you when you caught your breath, leaning against a tree. You snapped around, your breath hitching as you recognized the figure.
''Carter?'' You asked, feeling confused on why the white-haired man would return.
''I'm sorry for betraying you, I broke my promise.'' He mumbled, not meeting your piercing gaze. Your eyes narrowed, yet you felt some sort of sympathy. If you were him, and the Hunter had been suspecting you of information like that, you would've done the same thing, probably.
''Carter, look at me.'' You say, walking a tad closer, still weary of the Hunter slightly. He looked up, his icy blue eyes meeting yours. Your eyes widen when you inspect his features, noticing a scar going from just below his right eye, down his cheek, all the way to his cheekbone. Blood tripled down from it and it was swollen red; it must've been fresh.
''Holy shit- are you alright?'' You choke out, horrified.
''It's nothing. I earned it anyway. Shouldn't have betrayed you to him.'' He spat out in disgust, glaring at the surrounding trees, as if the Hunter was one of them.
''Nothing my ass.'' You said as you speed towards the bleeding figure. Just a feet or so apart, you reach out a hand, grabbing his jaw and turning it slightly to the left side so you could inspect the wound a little better. It looked deep and painful, bleeding still. Your usual solution of just wrapping a piece of clothe over it wouldn't work on this one, for sure. Luckily you had learned quite a few things about herbs when you were training for this suicide mission.
''Hold on, I'ma find a few things to help you.'' You mutter, letting go of his jaw and looking around frantically, missing the redish colour on Carter's cheeks.
After searching for a small bit, you found what you needed, and quickly reduced the juice from the plant, letting in triple down into a leaf you had folded into a cup.
''This is gonna sting a bit.'' You say as you reach Carter again.
''Of course it has to sting.'' He rolled his eyes as you tilted his head leftways again. Grinning to yourself, you applied just a small bit of the plant juice, waiting for his reaction.
''OW! 'Gonna sting a bit'? That hurt like a bitch!'' He exclaimed, pushing your hand away. You smiled knowingly at him, before applying the rest of the herb onto the whole of the wound. Ripping another piece of clothe off your sleeve, you held it against his cheek to stop the bleeding.
''Hold it like that for a while, got it?'' You command, to which Carter nodded, taking hold of the fabric himself. You glanced down at your own fingers, finding them smeared with blood.
''Dammit.'' You mutter. ''C'mon, we gotta clean up.'' You turn around, heading further into the woods, towards the faint sound of running water.

[UPDATE! FINALLY!
Deeply sorry for the veeeryy long wait, but I just didn't seem to have enough inspiration to really write anything. I promise I'll try to update quicker, but it just really depends.1328 words, quite proud of that to be honest! I actually had to end it a little early since I didn't want it to be too long
Anyway, it's summer break now, meaning I have much more time to write! So expect some more updates (unless I forget, which I probably will)
Also, my writing style has changed (and become better, I hope) so this chapter is quite different from the last
Lastly, feel free to comment! From light-hearted, funny ones to handy dandy criticism, I read them all. Also let me know if you see any typos, spelling mistakes or misused words! Please do pay attention to your tone however, because all hating comments will be deleted!
Thanks so much for reading this!
