Ka'halan, Ao'nung, and their mother sat in comfortable silence while Ao'nung weaved a new headpiece for Ronal.
Watching as her brother worked carefully, she remembered the stone Tsireya had found for her while they were out earlier.
"Are you going to make me a new hair tie?" she asked, remembering him bugging her about it a few days prior.
He was waiting to start another one since she lost her previous one while training.
He turned to her, mouth slightly agape, "I've been asking you for a new shell to start one for you, I will but I need a shell-"
She held back a laugh at the look on his face, handing him the small blue stone Tsireya found.
"Tsireya found this one this morning," she said, watching as he examined it.
"... I'll work on it when I finish Mami's, okay?" he looked up at her, silently glad that he could make another piece for his sister.
Ka'halan grinned and nodded in return, watching as their mother sat up and examined the stone from over his shoulder.
"It is quite beautiful...it will match well with the stone in your top," she mentioned, gesturing to the blue stone intricately woven into her top.
He nodded, placing the stone he still had in his hands in one of the 5 baskets in front of him.
One for Ronal, Tonowari, Ka'halan, himself, and one for Tsireya.
The conversation seemed to be over, as he placed a few other things in her basket and then continued on their mother's headpiece.
However, the silence didn't last long.
"Ka'halan, at some point before dinner, go to Sully's and tell them they will not be coming to community meals until further notice." Ronal started, leaning back into her previous position with a hand on her belly. "We must wait until the clan calms down from today's events."
She studied her mother's expression before nodding, "Alright, who should bring them their meals? They have not been taught to hunt in the sea yet."
"You may choose," she answered.
Ka'halan nodded, looking outside and noticing the sun was already getting close to the horizon.
Sighing, she stood up. "I'm going to go now, the sun is already low,"
Getting a nod from Ao'nung, she ducked out of their home and started walking.
Greeting a few people as she passed, she thought about the amount of influence her words had on her father's decision earlier.
Although her comment seemed simple enough at the time, similar events had happened before. Her words had more impact than she initially thought, would he have made a different decision if she didn't say anything?
Although she ran out of time to think, stepping up to the pod with the new family. She knocked on the post outside of their marui, hearing a collective silence take over the inside.
It only took a few short seconds for Jake Sully to appear through the cloth that covered the doorway. Immediately recognizing the girl, he bowed his head slightly and greeted her with a simple, "I see you"
She smiled slightly, repeating the action. A look of relief flashed over his face and he gestured for her to step inside.
Taking only a step inside, she scanned the family. Sitting spread out around the pod, they were visibly uncomfortable with their new surroundings.
