Valentina's pov :

"Come in." I said and the door opened.

A tall figure entered my room and I groaned.

That's definitely not Bella.

"I'm not a doctor but I don't think you should eat popcorn in your state."

Can't a woman catch a break in here?

"Leonardo. What are you doing here?" I told him as soon as I recognized him.

He came closer to me and I turned on the lights.

He was dressed in a black suit and his hands were on his pockets.

"Hi Valentina. I came in here to check up on you."

"Oh, that's so sweet of you. Thank you."

"Yeah. Vincent definitely did not send me. Definitely." I nodded my head and looked at him.

He approached me and I stayed still, staring at him.

We made eye contact and the awkwardness increased.

"So, how are you? Your doctor gave us a prescription and we sent a maid to go, buy your medicines."

"I'm fine. Just tired. Thanks for asking."

"Why do you always say thank you?"

"Umm, it's called politeness. Something I guess you have never heard of."

He hummed and took his hands out of his pockets. I got lost in his tattoos and saw a small symbol on his wrist.
It was a small red blade with the letter "H" next to it.

"Are you done checking me out?" He smirked and I rolled my eyes.

Leonardo came and sat next to me.

"What does this mean?"  I asked him as I showed him the red symbol.

"This is the symbol that represents the Hernandez family. The blade is because we kill and the H stants for Hernandez."

"I like it." I truthfully told him as I touched it with my thumb.

"The only way to get one is to become part of the family. If you are by blood or marriage, the blade is red. If you're just a part of the mafia, it's black."

"But why do you have different colours?"

He turned his head and looked at me.

"Red represents loyalty and trust. Personally, if I saw someone with the red blade, I would trust him more that one with a black one. That's because they're my own blood."

I nodded my head showing him that I understood and he looked at me.

"Previously, I heard your conversation with Vittorio and my cousin."

"And?"

"Valentina, you don't know me but listen to me. You should stay away from Vincent. Trust me, I'm his cousin. I can assure you that he's the devil." His face was serious and I felt kinda scared.

"Why are you helping me?" I asked him, confused of why he would warn me about his own cousin.

"I don't know. There's just something in you that makes me think you're special."

"Look, I don't know him but he doesn't look so bad. I mean, yes, I am constantly afraid that he'll kill me in my sleep and stuff like that but he's been nothing but nice to me until now. Even though I think it's just because he paid 500k to get me."
