It's done.

It took Val six months. Six months of painstaking work, of hiding away in the attic, of trial after trial after trial, to see it done. But now it is.

The unholy offspring of lightning and death itself is sitting still in front of her, waiting for her orders.

Toothless is finished.

No matter how hard she tries, Val just can't take her eyes off him.

It's just...it's finished.

He's finished.

Sleek body sat down, wings held steady at his sides, head looking down. It's smoother than Toothless' model in the movie, despite Val's best efforts, and she had to give up his red half-tail in order to better blend in with the night. And though it's not hard to see where the different limbs were assembled, to anyone in the dark, it's a real dragon. It looks as if he's out of energy, right now, but Val knows that all it needs is its core cards and her signal, and then he'll rise up.

Alive.

Val just can't bring herself to think properly. Or to feel properly.

Whatever she's feeling can't be described with words, but she knows that this moment, Toothless waking up, will change her life forever, mark the start of her hero career, and that's something big. Something grand. And she can't move, whatever this feeling of overpowered foreboding was keeping her feet glued to the floor. She wants to live in this moment forever, burn it in her memory, so that in the future she can look back and remember it as clear as if she was on the same night again.

It's just...it's now.

The moment is now.

After spending a good fifteen minutes just staring at her creation, marveling in his presence, Val decides that it's time.

But first things first.

Turning on a camera, Val smooths down her clothes and takes a deep breath. She's a Disney science nerd now, so she might as well play the part. Giving a nervous smile to the device, she starts.

"Hi. Uh, my name is Valeria Storm, and this is the start of my project- Project Berk." Trying not to fidget too hard, she moves a little to the right, giving a clear front view of Toothless, who still kinda looks like a puppy getting reprimanded. "This is Toothless. He's my first try. He's a male Night Fury, Strike Class, and he's made for...well, for setting down the standards, I guess? All he really needs to do is work, so...yeah! Um..." Val moves in front of the camera again, her hands entwined tight together, eyes shifting from the floor to the wall to the camera, and inside, she's already regretting doing this. "Let's power it up?"

She lets out a nervous chuckle, slowly turning around to face Toothless, dark green eyes cast to the floor. Taking another deep breath, she walks to a table set up there, and grabs four cards.

One for Night Fury standards.

One for San Fransokyo's information.

One for Toothless' own mind.

And one for Val's specific commands.

It took her an embarrassing amount of time to decide what to download into Toothless' core cards, but she guessed that if push came to shove, she could either discard them or make more. Not willing to let her anxiety ruin the moment, Val turned towards Toothless once again. Rounding him and climbing up his back, she sat herself on his saddle and leaned forward, reaching a hand to the back of his neck. Using different shades of black paint, she gave the illusion of scales on Toothless smooth body, but three specific scales hidden behind his head were actually buttons. Pressing them in a certain order - Left-Right-Centre - two small, rectangular lids slid to the sides, revealing under them a white square with four slots in it. Val carefully set the four cards down into the slots, pressing down onto the middle scale to close the lids. She took a few seconds to admire the view from above, her attic covered in an ethereal, moonlight glow, and then she climbed down, going to stand in front of the dragon.
