Proposal makes perfect- Everdy

This was it. The big moment that would change everything. He couldn't back out now. So, with a deep breath, he opened his eyes and took the challenge head on. Only, it didn't go as planned. At all.

"Meredy...hello...yeah...um...so we have known each other a long time, right? Of course, I mean we are a couple. Have been for years...yeah. So, anyway...I wanted you to know that I love you...I hope you always know that...and I wanted to ask if you would marry me." Eve stated awkwardly.

He managed a wonky smile and opened the ring box with the beautiful engagement ring inside.

"No." Ren answered for the snow replica of Eve's girlfriend.

Eve slouched in defeat, knowing that he was right. With a sad sigh, he closed the ring box with a soft click and got back on his feet from his knelt position. His thumb rubbing over the velvety blue cover nervously.

"Was it really that bad?" Eve asked.

Hibiki scratched the back of his head, trying to think of a gentle way to answer. This was his fifth practice run, after all, and he didn't want to discourage him further.

"I wouldn't call it...bad." Hibiki tried to be reassuring.

"But it wasn't good." Ren added.

Hibiki glared at their raven haired friend and elbowed him in the side as a signal to stop talking. Ren rubbed his side as he returned the glare.

"What? If he proposed like that, there is no way she will say yes." Ren pointed out.

"Maybe so, but you could be more gentle about about. This is an important moment and he needs support, not to be insulted." Hibiki retorted.

As the two continued to bicker, Eve turned back to the snow replica. He couldn't help but smile.

He had captured every little detail so well. Too well. Every curl of her pretty pink hair, the shape of her gorgeous eyes, and even the radiance of her kind smile. It made him nervous yet so happy all at the same time.

Oh, how he loved her so much. He wanted nothing more than to marry her. But how was he supposed to do that without making a fool of himself and ruining his chances?

"I don't get it. I know what I want to say, but whenever I open my mouth it comes out in such a mess." Eve groaned.

Hibiki and Ren quieted down after that and get back on track.

"Do you think it's because we are here? Would you do better if you didn't have an audience? We could leave if you need." Hibiki offered.

Eve turned back around to face them with a sad smile.

"No...believe it or not it isn't any better when I practice by myself. I hoped it would be better with you guys here but...you heard me...Maybe I should call it a day." Eve sighed.

With that, he finally put the ring away for save keeping.

"Are you sure? We could-"

"Thanks for the offer, but no thanks. I'm going to take a break and for now. Let's get something to eat instead. I'm getting hungry." Eve cut him off.

"Can't argue with that." Ren nodded.

Although Hibiki was reluctant, he agreed. So, the trio returned to the guild for a much needed lunch break. They chatted and laughed over other things while they ate.
