Scorpion v. D'Vorah
The sun heats the field. It's midday in the middle of Japan. The field is green and full of life. It's surrounded by a thick treelime. The field is not far from the camp and home of the Shirai Ryu Clan of Assassins. The clan leader, Hanzo Hasashi, the former revenant of hell, Scorpion, sits in the center of the field. He has placed his twin Kitana's on the grass in front of him in a crossed position. He is on one knee and his hands grip the hilts of his blades. His breathing is slow and calm. His eyes closed, he meditates, bathing in the warmth of the sun he had longed for while trapped in the Netherrealm under Quan Chi's slabery.
Hanzo heard the buzzing of insects. The buzzing grew louder. Loud enough to draw Hanzo's attention. He quickly stood, retrieving his swords from the ground. He sheathed them for now and looked to the sky to see what caused the loud buzzing. Hanzo spotted a figure he wasn't to pleased to see.
"D'Vorah," Hanzo growled as the hybrid fluttered to the ground with her wings. She landed on her feet and her wings retracted. She stared at Hanzo, her upper face covered by her hood.
"Scorpion," she said.
"I am Scorpion no longer, Kytinn," Hanzo replied cooly. "I am surprised to see you here. Hasn't Raiden punished you for aiding Quan Chi resurrect Shinnok?"
"This One has eluded your Thunder God's rage."
"And you still draw breath because I refrain mine." Hanzo spat. "I am weary of Outworlders, D'Vorah. Why do you approach me now?"
"This One requires hosts for the Hive. My children will take your soldiers' bodies for This One's plans and feed on the rest of your Clan."
Hanzo's hands burst into flames. "Filthy insect! You will not have the Shirai Ryu! Combat me," he ordered as he took his fighting stance.
The hybrid nodded. "Very well. This One will enjoy your death," she said as she showed her stingers threatenly.
Hanzo stepped forward and quickly swatted several wasps that sped toward him. He threw a blow to D'Vorah's hooded face. It was blocked and countered by the insectoid. Her ovipositor was driven into Hanzo's shoulder. He grabbed her wrist and twisted it. He watched as venom leaked from her wrist and burned his hand. Hanzo let go in a grunt of pain. Hanzo staggered back and side-stepped D'Vorah as she lunged at him. As she passed, he kicked her in the back and sent her flying.
D'Vorah got to her feet and spun around. She kicked Hanzo in the shin and kneed him in the stomach. Her wings lifted her into the air and she grabbed her opponent by the shoulders and lifted him in the air. D'Vorah's wings retracted and she performed a flip, throwing Hanzo into the dirt.
Hanzo got to his knees and coughed up blood. D'Vorah stepped behind him and prepared to stab the Shirai Ryu. Hanzo's fist ignited and he turned, delivering a fiery uppercut. D'Vorah flew into the air. Hanzo disappeared in a burst of flames and teleported behind D'Vorah and delivered a second uppercut to the back of her skull, causing her flight to continue a bit longer as she was swatted away like the fly she was. She fell to the ground with a thud and Hanzo stomped her stomach. She grabbed his ankle and tripped him. He fell to the ground next to her.
D'Vorah got up first and pressed her foot onto Hanzo's chest. A swarm of insects flew down to aid their Queen by pinning his wrists to the ground. Hanzo wouldn't allow the hybrid to gain the upper hand. He sank into the ground due to a teleport and appeared in the air above D'Vorah. He dropped down, with swords now out, and narrowly missed D'Vorah. He wouldn't let this slow him. He lunged forward and delivered three slashes that the Kytinn barely avoided. D'Vorah backed away and the two fighters circled each other.
"This is the end of you, D'Vorah."
"You speak of victory too soon, Scorpion. This One does not seek to lose by an Earthrealmer's hand yet."
They both, as if on cue, sprang forward. Sword met stingers. Ovipositors met steel. D'Vorah deflected all attacks and managed to disarm Hanzo of one of his swords. The weapon flew into the air and landed into the ground. It stuck out by its blade. This didn't discourage Hanzo. He still continued on the offensive. He kept up his rage-filled slashes.
D'Vorah kept her defense calm and collected. She caught the sword with her stingers and swiped it to the side. She then stabbed the now weapon less Hanzo in the shoulders with her ovipositors. She delivered a forceful kick into his stomach that sent him flying backwards. Hanzo jumped back up to his feet. They were several yards apart and Hanzo knew just how to close the distance. Hanzo revealed his rope spear and threw. As always, his Kunai found its mark. The spear planted into D'Vorah's stomach and was pulled to Hanzo.
"Get over here!" Hanzo shouted as D'Vorah was pulled close. He punched her in the face. He grabbed the hood and tore it off of the hybrid's head. Hanzo tossed the tattered cloth aside and grabbed her by the throat. He used both hands to start choking D'Vorah.
Compound eyes glared with disgust into Hanzo's. He kept the pressure on her neck as the insectoid found it harder and harder to breathe. A cloud of wasps engulfed his head and he let go of D'Vorah's throat. Flaming fists swiped at the hostile bugs as D'Vorah backed, gasping for air. Hanzo rid his head of the wasps to see the hybrid had distanced herself again.
Hanzo shouted in anger and teleported close, just to be stabbed in the stomach by D'Vorah. Hanzo reeled backward and hunched over. He fell to his knees. His arm covered his stomach's wound. The Kytinn approached to finish him off. Her stingers aimed for his head, she strikes.
Hanzo rolled out of the way and grabbed his sword that stuck out of the ground. He slashed upward and cut open D'Vorah's abdomen. Hanzo stood, blood pooling from his multiple stab wounds, and dropped his blade. He stepped toward the kneeling hybrid.
"On your feet!" Hanzo ordered as he roughly grabbed her by the shoulders and forced her to her feet. He prepared to finish her off.
Hanzo took his Kunai and stabbed D'Vorah in the chest. He wrapped the chain around her neck to symbolize a noose. Hanzo created a portal of fire behind D'Vorah. He kicked D'Vorah in her sliced stomach. She flew back into the portal. He summoned a portal in the air and D'Vorah's corpse fell down and simulated a hanging. Her body had been burned from the portal. Her bones were charred, along with skin that was melted or severely burned.
Hanzo held the chain in one hand and looked up at his work. He let the chain slack a bit to let her body be lowered. Hanzo finished the hanging by swinging his foot upward, engulfed by fire, to strike her in the abdomen. The force of the kick caused the lower half of her melted skin covered skeleton to be separated and fall to the ground. He pulled on the chain and brought the the upper half through the portal and into his hands. He removed his Kunai from the skeletal remains and dropped the rest of the Kytinn's body to the ground.
"Lord Raiden will thank me," Hanzo spoke as he crushed the skull under his foot. He looked up and watched the insects depart. Hanzo, after retrieving his swords, started back toward the Shirai Ryu camp through the woods, leaving the dead D'Vorah behind.
