Year Two, Chapter 1:

The Second Year

As HNTD's first year came to a close; so did all their troubles. Despite Roman Torchwick being set free by unknown means, the villainous activity stayed near none existent; at least to the public eye and to the military. Dire Armbruster, Hunter's father also hasn't yet seen any potential dangers, at least during the other half of the second semester. But now HNTD and the rest of the first year students from a year ago are now going to become Second Year Students; with potentially new problems arising along the way.

 

The day before the start of the second year:

"N-Neo... I know you can be stubborn but now is not the time!" Roman mumbled as he stood behind his right hand woman. Neo held out her umbrella in a defensive manner as the armoured figure paced around the two of them. Had the three figures not been in one of Vale's convoluted alley ways, they would've been spotted; however the intricate pathways kept the three individuals unseen in dark of the night.  The attacker held her massive great sword at her side and then adjusted her visor,

 "I'd listen to Torchwick; lower your defenses. It'll make destroying my target easier". Roman slowly backed up as he starred in fear at Ivory as the vicious robot approached closer and closer. Neo suddenly lunged at Ivory and was immediately bashed by the massive great sword, sending her flying away from Torchwick. The leader of the White Fang frantically looked back at Neopolitan and back at his route of escape, but the look in Neo's eyes insured Torchwick that running was the best option. He ran for dear life as an electrical blast knocked Neo back even further as Ivory walked closer to her opponent. Neo jumped back onto her feet and blocked the next strike by Ivory as she quickly swept her foot across the ground, tripping Ivory onto the ground. Neo kicked Ivory in the stomach with her massive heels and then grabbed her thin blade and prepared to stab Ivory; only to be sent flying back by a discharge of electricity. Neo once again recovered quickly and then blocked Ivory's quick slash, but then Ivory pulled back the huge sword and smashed it against Neo's umbrella. Somehow, some way: the great sword broke through Neo's defenses and sent her flying back into a building's wall. Ivory transformed the great sword into a rocket launcher and prepared to fire, but Neo suddenly disappeared into some kind of strange energy; as if she dissolved. Ivory paused and scanned the area but nor Neo or Torchwick was seen. "No matter; I know where you'll hide" Ivory thought as she began to head towards her next target.

First day of the Second Year:

"Good morning students" Glynda Goodwitch greeted as she stood in front of the podium on the stage,

"Now, let me go over everything for the first year students, then I shall address our new second year students". Glynda gave the new first year students the same speech as always, shortly followed by Ozpin's opinion on the new batch and included a bit of advice to the new students. Once the first year students left, Ozpin looked down at the teams of second year students and smiled,

"Hard to believe, isn't it? You were all once like them; first year students. However here you are, second year students; and may I add some of the strongest, most heroic batch of Huntsman and Huntresses I've seen in a while!" He paused and glanced down at Hunter, Ruby, Carmine and the rest of the team leaders, "Anyways, I believe the strongest thing you all have is your bonds. Whether it be bonds with your team members, or other teams in general; it has really strengthened you all. This is evident by the dozens of problems you and I both had to deal with last year, but halfway through second semester of your first year; these problems died down. No villains, no thieves, no Grimm. Anyways, enough of my talk: I will now ask that when called up, one of our second year teams will come up onto the stage and grant one another luck, or say what you want to say". He looked at Team RWBY and then said, "Team RWBY, please come to the stage; followed afterwards by HNTD".
