"I need help over here guys!" Eli called to his friends, the sounds of blasters and explosions surrounding him. He tried to move to nearby shelter, but he was hit and knocked back by a grenade slug. His blaster flew out of his hand, as did his slugs with it, and his opponent stood before him, their blaster raised at point blank.

"Stay down!" A voice called out before the sound of a blaster was heard behind Eli's opponent and he was shocked by a tazerling. The slug chirped victoriously as a young woman around 16-17 with long messy brown hair walked over and held out her hand to Eli. "Eli Shane. I figured you needed some help." She laughed with a teasing smirk on her face as she helped him up.

"Thank you... uh.."

"Navari. Nava for short. My mom was good friends with your dad while he was down here." Navari explained while she loaded her blaster with an arachnid slug, who tied up their opponent.

"Hold on, you said 'down here.' You know about the surface?" Eli was shocked, seeing as no one other than him, his friends, and Thaddeus black knew about the surface.

"Yep, and I'm here to finish what my mom started. She gave her life protecting Will Shane, and now I'm here to pick up where she left off." An infurnus slug chirped as it hopped onto navari's shoulder.

"Is that an infurnus slug?! I thought I had the only one in the 99 caverns."

"Easy flare. You'll get your chance." She smiled as she scratched under the slugs chin. "Flare was my mom's slug. She found her them in another cavern and when she died, she left flare to me with instructions to protect Eli Shane."

"Well, we'd be happy to have you, Nava. Let's just get you associated with the rest of the team." He laughed as a girl with big red pigtails ran over and practically tackled Eli as she embraced him.

"You're ok!"

"Happy to be alive, Trixy." He laughed. "I wouldn't had made it out without Nava here stepping in when she did."

"Navari Haring. Nava for short." She smiled, shaking her hand.

Cord squealed in excitement. "Haring? As in THE Eliza Haring?! It's a pleasure." He started to fanboy, shaking her hand with much force.

"Thank you." She giggled. "Eliza was my mother. I'm just picking up where she left off."

"Well, let's get back to the hideout and then we can make introductions, shall we?" Eli suggested, climbing onto his mecha beast before riding off.

{30 minutes later}

Once back at the hideout, Trixy pulled out the kibble for the slugs who hungrily feasted on the food, exhausted from the previous battle.

"So who was Eliza Haring?" Eli asked, curious and confused.

"Eli, Eliza Haring was a member of your dad's team. She and Will Shane were super close and he was devastated when she passed." Trixy explained in detail Eli would understand.

"Who did she die?"

"Black." Navari spoke up, her head lowered as she spoke. "He, my mom, and your dad were in a huge duel and she was hit in the back with a grenade slug.. not even her armor could protect her. She knocked Will Shane out of the way and lost her life in the process.."

"I-I'm so sorry Navari..."

"Don't be. My mom was a great slinger and I'm happy she died doing what she loved the most."

"We'd be happy to have you on our team, Nava." Trixy smiled and took her hand.

"Black won't know what hit him." Cord smirked as he cracked his knuckles.

"What do you say, Nava?" Eli asked and held out his hand to her.

"I say bring it on. Black's gonna regret ever messing with slugterra."

"My thoughts exactly." He chuckled as she took his hand.

"Perhaps we should all retire to bed. I know pronto is quite exhausted."

"Good idea, pronto. Then we'll see what you're made of in the morning." He smirked at Navari.

"Oh bring it on Eli Shane. I look forward to dueling you." Navari smirked back before cord led her up to a spare room they had in the hideout while everyone else went off to bed.

"It's not much now, but we figure you'll mix it up during your time here." Cord laughed.

"It's great, cord. Thanks. Now good night." She smiled as she sat on her bed. "Big day tomorrow guys, so get your rest." She laughed at her sleepy slugs while she changed into some more comfortable clothes for bed. The moment her head hit the pillow she felt herself drifting off and she smiled, looking forward to what adventures were to come.
