One And Only

"Autumn hurry up!"

"Coming!"

Today I'm moving in to college, specifically the University of Michigan with my older brother Luke. I get to finally start an new chapter in my life while also living out my dream.

I got accepted the gymnastics team at Michigan and am so excited to start my career with them and show that I'm more than just three NHL players' little sister.

I run out to the packed cars filled with my parents and brothers. This is really happening. All the eyes are on me urging me to get in the car so we can finally make our way to the university.

"You're with Mom and Quinn." Luke says before going in the other car with Dad and Jack and driving off. Well I guess it's time.

"That's the last of it" Jack says bring in the last of my stuff into my dorm room.

After finally arriving, we stopped to unpack Luke before we finally made it to my dorm. It's probably been about 8 hours of us just taking trips back and forth from the car to Luke and I'd rooms, while also carrying things we questioned if even worth the trip or the heavy lifting. Soon, the last of my stuff was in my room.

"As fun as these 8 hours have been, I think it's time we get going" Quinn says while bringing me into a hug.

"Bye sis" he says as I hold on a little tighter, not quite ready to say goodbye.

"Bye Quinny"

"Later Fall" Jack says, using my creative nickname.

"I'll miss you" I mumble while hugging onto my older brother.

"I'll miss you too. Luke will look out for you, but if not then. I'll take  care of it." he informs me.

"Goodbye sweetheart" my parents saying while also giving me a hug before ultimately heading back home.

And now it was just me and Luke. He promised to stay here before meeting my roommate, but as an hour passes by with no sign of her he decides to head back to his place and reunite with his friends.

"Later loser. See you around campus."

And then it was just me.

I've made myself comfortable in my dorm and have just found myself taking the time to relax after all the moving, when I hear the door open.

In walks this beautiful, brunette girl who I assume to be my roommate. She looks nice, so I can only hope we get along well.

"Hi, I'm Liana." she introduces.

"I'm Autumn. It's so nice to meet you!" I tell her while offering out my hand to shake.

"I'm more of a hugger." she says as she rejects my hand, yet instead brings me into a hug.

"Did you need help bringing up your stuff."

"Oh no thanks. Most of my stuff hasn't arrived yet seeing as it was shipped from California."

After introductions we both got to know each other before dealing a half an hour had passed.

Liana is so nice and I also discovered she's on the gymnastics team with me. We talked about our families, where we're from, favorite gymnastics events, and other things like that. She was really easy to talk to.
