As we all know, ghouls are anything but human. Possibly they were in a past life, and even though they have human anatomy, they act more animalistic.
Ghouls can show affection very differently. It can be a kind gesture for them, but for a human, it could even be gross for the human.
Ghouls show affection to friends with headbutts, friendly hugs and cuddles.
Ghouls show affection to closer people like mates and family by rubbing there face against them and even licking, or grooming them. Most see this as disgusting, but to a ghoul, it's like cats grooming each other. It's friendly and shows the other they love them.
