(Please give me some suggestions and tips if this doesn't seem that good... once again this is kind of my first story thing to ever post so i don't have much experience and appreciate all the help i can get 😞 thank you and enjoy!!)

Aiden's POV:

I woke up to the loud sound of Kristal on the megaphone making an announcement to me and all the other campers.
"Good morning contestants! Today, there wont be any challenges! Ive planned something exciting for you all today. Were going to be at the movie theaters to watch a movie! Be ready by 8pm for when we leave. See you guys soon!" She announces.
I get up put of my bed, pretty annoyed by the loud announcement waking me out of my sleep, when to my surprise a tall figure was standing in front of me.
"Morning Aiden! Sleep well?" James says to me.
"Good morning! I slept fine, I guess. How about you?" I reply to him.
"Eh, alright. You wanna go get breakfast together?" He asks.
"Sure! Just let me get changed out of my pajamas first, okay?" I exclaimed.
He nodded and then headed out the cabin to wait on me to finish changing. I take off my shirt and grab my turtleneck and striped long sleeve shirt and put it on over my head. I finish changing and I head out the cabin looking for James.
"You ready?" He asks me.
"Yup. Lets go." I reply.
We start walking towards the mess hall and James is going on about some story about him and his friends when he was in college. It was pretty interesting to be honest, because I expected James to be the "bad, never listening, never turned in his work" kind of kid. But he was actually a "Straight-A Student" and his teachers loved him. He must've just been a really fun and nice guy in college. Anyways, once James and I reached the mess hall, we were hit with a wave of commotion about going to the movies later on.
"Are you guys seriously that excited about the movies? We dont really even know what were watching!" I say to everyone.
"Calm down, Kristal said it'll just be a surprise for all of us. Were just discussing about what it may be!" Lake replies to me.
"Whatever. As long as its not a horror movie, im perfectly fine." I say, ignorantly.
I head up to the counter to grab my plate of food and sit down besides James.
"Can you believe it? They're actually serving a really good breakfast today! Just plain eggs and bacon, not something that looks like its gonna poison me." James starts the conversation off with.
"I think the food here isn't that bad? Its not always just about its looks." I complain.
"Yeah yeah, sure. Anyways, what do you think the movie is gonna be?" James questions me.
"Honestly, I really don't care what it is as long as it isn't horror." I answer.
"Really? I really like horror movies. How come you don't like them?" James asks.
"Huh? No, its not that I don't like them! Its because..." I try to think of an excuse to not tell James that Im scared of horror movies. "They just get boring quickly! Yeah." I say quickly.
"Uh huh... okay then." James says, smirking at me.
"What?!" I exclaim.
"Nothing, nothing!" James laughs at me.
"Hey guys, whats up!" Rosa María and Hunter say, while taking a seat across from us.
"Oh, hey! We were just talking about the movie that we'll be seeing later on tonight." I say to them.
"Speaking of the movie, I heard Kristal talking about it to Oliver just a little bit ago." Hunter starts.
"Really? What'd you hear about it?" James asks him.
"I heard that it could either be a comedy movie or..." Hunter pauses.
"Or what?" Rosa asks.
"Or a horror movie." He finishes.
I shoot up a bit. "A horror movie?" I say, a bit worried.
"Or maybe I heard wrong, I don't really know. But its probably one of those two. Anyways, I kind of hope its a horror movie. What about you guys?" Hunter adds on
"I don't really care which one it could be, I love basically all movies!" Rosa María announces.
"I think horror movies are better, it should definitely be a horror movie." James adds on.
"Comedy movies are way better, right? Cause when your watching horror movies, you just know that your gonna get jumpscared and its not as scary anymore! Haha..." I say to them, a little awkwardly.
In the corner of my eye, I see James cover his mouth so I cant see what hes saying, but he secretly whispers something to Hunter and Rosa María and they start laughing.
"What? Whats so funny?" I ask.
"Oh, its nothing! Seriously!" Rosa María says.
I roll my eyes and try to finish my breakfast fast. I wanted to meet up with Lake later and see if she needed help on her studies or something.
"Whats the rush?" James asked me as i was finishing up my breakfast.
"Oh, sorry. I just wanted to hurry because I was thinking of hanging out with Lake. Sorry!" I answer, getting up from my seat to put my plate away.
I wave goodbye to everyone and I head outside to look for Lake. Im walking around the camp when I come across Maggy all by herself.
"Hi Maggy!" I say to her.
"Oh, hello Aiden." She says, shyly.
"Just wondering, do you know where Lake is at?" I ask her.
"Yes! Shes in the cabin. I think shes working on her essays." Maggy answers.
"Great, thanks! By the way, Rosa is in the mess hall. I just noticed you were all alone and just wanted to let you know." I smile at her.
"Oh! Thank you..!" She says, a little embarrassed.
I wave goodbye to her and head over to my team's cabin. I knock on the door just before I open it, just in case shes doing something at all.
"Lake? Are you in there?" I shout.
"Oh! Coming!" She shouts back.
I wait for Lake to finish whatever shes doing and for her to open the door.
"Hi Aiden! Come in!" Lake gestures.
I walk in and look at her bed. Its filled to the top with books and papers.
"Jesus Christ, Lake! That is way too many books for someone to even handle!" I exclaim.
"Well, I don't really have a choice, haha!" She laughs kind of awkwardly.
"Actually, thats kind of the reason why I came in here. I wanted to see if you needed any help with your essays. Im not like a professional with this kind of stuff, but I can try?"
"Thats really nice of you, are you sure you wanna help?" Lake questions me.
"Im sure. I remember how hard school was for me, I don't really want you to struggle and get behind like I did, haha!" I reply.
"Okay, sure. Thanks Aiden." She calmly says with a smile.
"No problem! Alright, where do you wanna start?" I ask.
She shows me what the essay will be about and how we'll be doing it. We spend about almost the whole day working on this essay, with a couple of breaks, of course. We stop completely at around 7:30pm before the movie starts so we could get ready for it.
"That essay writing wore me out... I don't know how you keep up with all of that!" I complain.
"Its a struggle, yeah, but sometimes I find it fun. Most of the time I just deal with it." Lake says to me.
We both kind of laugh and then get up from our spot to get ourselves ready for the movie. I put on something comfy, since we'll probably be just sitting in one of those uncomfortable chairs for a while and in case I fall asleep. I also grab a blanket and my teddy bear just for comfort. Lake also thought it would be smart to change into something comfy and bring a blanket with her.
"Im finished changing. I'll wait for you outside, okay?" Lake says to me.
"Alright, don't leave me!" I joke with her.
As im finishing up changing and putting on my shirt, someone barges into the cabin, unannounced. It was the one and only, James.
"What the fuck?! James, get out!" I shout at him with a red face.
"I don't care that your changing? I just have to grab something real quick." James ignores me.
I turn around with my shirt around my chest, waiting for him to finish grabbing whatever he needed. Suddenly, I could feel him behind me, taking my shirt and putting it on me.
"I know your uncomfortable being shirtless in front of me, just put your shirt on. You know I don't see you any different because of your..." He pauses. "situation." James whispers to me.
I knew what he was talking about. "You mean it?" I ask.
"Of course I do. Aiden, if anybody ever sees you different because of that, then fuck them! They suck and they're just little sensitive assholes." James says, trying to make me feel better.
I laugh a bit. "Thanks. Are you ready to go?" I ask.
"Yeah, lets go." He answers.
James and I walk out the cabin together, and I immediately start looking for Lake, who was supposed to be waiting for me outside the cabin but reluctantly just left.
"I told Lake to wait for me! She must've saw her friends or something and just didn't think to wait for me." I complain.
"Calm down, we'll see her when we get to the theaters and you two can play-fight it out." James laughs.
I roll my eyes at him and we head on our way to the theaters. James is just scrolling on his phone and taking pictures for his instagram, while im worrying about if the movie will be a horror movie or not. Im sure everyone else would enjoy it, but its just way too scary for me. James must've noticed that I was getting worried.
"Aiden, are you seriously that scared of horror movies?" He teases.
"What?! Of course not!" I say, crossing my arms and looking away.
"You realize I know your lying right? Honestly, I don't care if your scared of them." James says more calmly.
"They just freak me out! Theres so many jump-scares and stuff and I always get really scared." I reply a bit upset.
"Its alright." James says as he puts his arm around my shoulders. I jolt a bit and start to feel my face get hot. "If the movie is a horror movie, we can leave if it gets too scary, okay?" He comforts me.
I smile at him as we reach the doors to the movie theaters. Everyone was outside waiting on Kristal to arrive. I look for Lake in the crowd, and when I finally find her, I give her a really tight squeeze from behind to scare her.
"You left me back there! I told you to wait for me." I pouted.
"Sorry! I saw Rosa and Maggy and wasn't thinking. I think it worked out anyways though." Lake says while winking at me.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Oh, nothing. I guess you don't understand." Lake chuckles.
"Well, I mean I could understand if you would just tell me. What is it?" I ask once again.
"Never mind. It looks like Kristal made it. We can go inside now!" Lake exclaims.
I turn around and see Kristal waving at everyone.
"Hi guys! Are you ready?" Kristal shouts.
Everyone gets excited and Kristal opens the door for everyone. We all walk in and immediately are hit with a wave of "wow". The movie theater was beautiful. There was plenty of food to keep the campers not go hungry, and the bathrooms weren't dirty at all and actually looked nice. Everyone thanked Kristal for what she did for us and we all headed to the movie room.
"Does anyone wanna come with me for a minute to grab some food?" Kristal asks everyone.
Lake and I say we'll come help, so we ask people what everyone wants to drink and eat, and get up from our seat to follow Kristal. I was making the drinks, Kristal was grabbing the snacks, and Lake was making the actual meals that the people asked for. While I was making someones drink, Lake taps me on the shoulder.
"Aiden, I gotta ask you something." Lake starts.
"Yeah? Whats up?" I ask.
"What do you think about James?" She asks.
"What? Why?" I ask again.
"Im just curious!" She exclaims
"Well, I mean James is cool, I guess. He's one of my friends and I like hanging out with him." I answer.
"Okay, how about this..." She pauses. "Would you date James?"
"What?!" I shout, feeling my face get hot.
"See?! You would! Your even getting red from the fact im just talking about him!" Lake laughs.
"I am not! Lets just stop talking about this." I say, turning my head away from her to continue pouring the drink.
"You only wanna stop talking about this cause your embarrassed. Honestly, if you like James you know I wouldn't tell him that you do, right? I don't do stuff like that." Lake says, calming down.
"I know you don't do stuff like that to people." I pause for a minute to think. "But I just... I didn't wanna say that I liked anyone until i knew for sure and didn't make a mistake by saying I did." I say.
Lake just looks at me. "Are you talking from experience?" She asks.
I nod. "I just need some time to think about it, you know. Whatever happens though, I'll let you know. I think I tell you everything anyways!" I laugh.
The both of us have a good laugh together and we get back to making the food and beverages. The whole time I was pouring the drinks I couldn't get my mind off of James. I haven't thought super hard about liking James, but the conversation me and Lake had had me thinking about it a lot more. Do I like James? Would I date him? I didn't wanna be thinking about this right now, I had drinks to be making for people. As I finished the last of the drinks, I grabbed some beverage carriers, put the drinks in, and carried them all the way to the movie room with Lake carrying her trays of food. I bring everyone their drinks and finally grab my own I made for myself and the one I made for James and sit down besides him.
"Hey there! Took you guys a while." James says to me, putting down his phone.
"Sorry, we were just talking a lot I think. Plus, that was a lot of stuff you guys asked us for." I reply while organizing all of our stuff so we can sit comfortably.
"Alright, you ready to see what the movie is?" James says, gesturing his hands in a what he thinks is scary way.
I just roll my eyes at him and wait for the movie to start. Once the lights started getting dimmer, everyone was getting excited but then quickly got quiet again. I guess this was a popular movie, because I heard someone whispering about how they've seen this before and how its really scary. At that moment then I knew that this was a horror movie and I was gonna get scared. About 30 minutes in, everything seemed to be fine. Nothing was jump-scaring me yet and the movie was pretty interesting. To be honest, I was pretty invested into the movie. The story was scary, but it was interesting to learn. Maybe about an hour in, it started getting really scary. I didnt realize what I was doing at first, but after a while I realized that I had grabbed onto James' arm and squeezed it really tight. When I realized what I had done, I quickly snatched my hand back from his arm, causing James to jerk his head at me.
"Aiden? Whats wrong?" James asks, concerned.
"Nothing! Sorry!" I quickly say, brushing off what just happened.
I go back to trying to watch the movie, but im instantly hit with a bad jumpscare that causes me to jump and cover my face. James pulls one of my hands away from my face and holds my hand in both of his.
"Do you wanna go outside?" He asks me.
"Sure..." I say, still a little startled.
James stands up and pulls me out of my chair. We both walk out of the movie theater together and walk to the bathroom. I immediately go to one of the sinks and wash my face with cold water to relax myself. James leans his arms on the sink next to mine, waiting for me to finish.
"Just tell me whenever you want to go back and we can go together, okay?" James starts with.
"Oh, okay. Sorry, I just couldn't stay in there for any longer." I apologize.
"Don't say your sorry!" James puts his hand on my shoulder. "It wasn't your fault, you didn't know the movie was gonna be a horror movie." James smiles at me.
I feel my face get a little warm. "Well... what should we do now?" I ask.
"Whatever you want? What do you wanna do?" James also asks.
I sit in silence. I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do. I thought just talking was enough to keep me entertained. Just then, I thought of something I wanted to ask him.
"James, theres something I wanna ask you. I want you to be completely honest with me." I say.
"Hm? Ask away." James responds.
"Well... I guess im just wondering why... why do you always hang out with me? I don't feel like im even that fun to be around, so why?" I ask.
"Oh." James shot up, looking a little embarrassed.
I sit there waiting for a response.
"Well, I think your fun to be around. Everyone else here sort of bores me, I guess." He answers, smiling awkwardly.
I just glare at him and cross my arms. "I dont believe that. Whats the real reason?" I tease.
James breaks eye contact with me and just stares at the floor, staying silent.
I look at him confused. "What?"
"Aiden, I want to tell you something. But once I tell you, you have to swear not to freak out or anything, okay?" James says a little nervously.
"Uh.. okay? Whats up?" I replied.
"Okay... This is really hard to say but... Aiden. I have feelings for you. I cant ever stop thinking about you and I enjoy spending my time with you. Please, I just wanna know. Do you feel the same?" He confesses.
I can feel my body shoot up. Did he really just say that? James confession catches me off guard, and im not sure what to say.
"Aiden? Hello?" James waves his hand in front of my face, making me snap out of whatever kind of trance i was in.
"James... Are you serious?" I say, starting to sort of smile.
"I mean... Why would I lie about that? Id be surprised if you told me other people didn't like you too!" James laughs.
"Whatever. James, to be honest... I feel the same way. I like you too, I really do. Im glad you told me this." I place my hand on his, which is resting on the sink counter, and smile at him.
James looks at me for a good minute. After what seems like forever, he lets go from my hand and gives me one of the nicest hugs I've ever received from anyone. I hug him for a minute, and we just sit there in silence. Not an awkward silence though, it was a really comforting silence that I think we both probably needed. James pulls away a little after a bit and just looks at me. I look up at him with a confused expression.
"Do you mind if I..." James pauses. He makes a kissing expression with his face, telling me he wants to kiss me.
I feel my face get red a little, but I nod anyways and let him kiss me. I didn't expect it to be like that though. Sure, I've kissed James before, but it was only for the challenge so we didn't have to eliminate anyone that day. This kiss was different. I felt actual sparks when we kissed this time, instead of just doing it for some dumb challenge. James has his hands on my cheeks, holding my face to face him so he can kiss me, while I wrap my arms around his neck. James disconnects our kiss and we sit there looking at each other again. I start to laugh a little bit, causing him to start laughing as well. Once we calm down a bit, we hear some commotion outside of the bathrooms. We try to listen and come to realize that the movie must have ended and the rest of the campers were outside. We quickly went outside of the restrooms to join with the rest of the group before they came looking for us. Hunter noticed us and started up a conversation with us.
"Hey! Where were you guys? You missed the best part of the movie." Hunter complained.
"Sorry about that. Aiden wasn't really enjoying it, so we just walked out together." James replies for me.
Everyone walks out of the theater while I walk beside Hunter and James, letting them have their conversation together and just listening. I start thinking about what happened in the bathroom with James and I. While im lost in my thoughts, someone comes up to me and hands me something.
"I grabbed this for you, by the way. I didn't want you to forget about it." Lake says to me, while handing me my blanket and teddy bear I brought.
"Oh! Thanks Lake!" I respond while taking back my things from her.
The rest of the night went by really fast. Everyone went back to their cabins and fell asleep. James brought me to my bed and lied beside me until I fell asleep for the rest of the night.
