Since she was little kid, Alaia had been taught to protect her family and friends. She had the motto of "protecting the pure of heart." The Bauer family, came from Argentina with European descendants, descendants of magic, fairy magic while the Saltzman family were adventurous humans.

Alaia was the union of these two families, the only hybrid being fairy and human at the same time. And although she had the weight of her family in following the motto, Alaia lived her life as a human, she had her friends, she even had a little son named Simon. Everything was perfect until Alaia saw her best friend die in front of her. She had been killed by a vampire or so she believed.

Alaia had made the decision to sell her property and she and her son Simon moved to Mystic Falls, where Isobel's killer was located. Alaia was going to take revenge; her motto had changed. She no longer protected the pure of heart and instead hunted the monsters of the night. The vampires

Not thinking that she herself was going to get involved with a vampire, the very brother of the vampire she wanted to hunt down. The phrase "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" cost her more than she thought. Alaia and Simon's life had changed. After falling in love with Stefan Salvatore and staying in Mystic Falls, Alaia became a history teacher, mother, and legal guardian of a six-year-old boy and a seventeen-year-old to later her family grow more.

Stefan Salvatore had fallen madly in love with Alaia, he would do anything for her and for their children. That he decided to save the town where they met, where they lived and where their love was born. Stefan had passed away, protecting his love, his family.

Every student at Salvatore School knew about Stefan Salvatore as he was the reason the school was founded. It was the inspiration of why several students loved to read the journals that the school showed but there was a journal that nobody know about it. This diary was kept in a safe in the principal's office. It was her story, Alaia's story told by Stefan, her husband.

The story that would be shown to change the future after all the children of Alaia and Stefan made a plan and with the help of Hope Mikaelson and several of their friends, they use the school cinema room, were they would project the lost diary, the life of Alaia to people from the past and thus change the future and several deaths such as Stefan Salvatore, Jenna Sommers, Elizabeth Forbes, Zach Salvatore, Mason Lockwood, Carol Lockwood, Jo Laughlin, Vicki Donovan, Finn Mikaelson, Jacob Bauer...
