"Bear, we should try to run, not fight! There are too many," Dove whispered. She looked afraid once again, and had not one glimmer of hope in her eyes.
"But we can't run, now. We both know what's going to happen," Bear sighed.
"We could have had wonderful kittens," Dove purred, resting her black and white head on Bear's shoulder.
"We could have," Bear licked her white muzzle.
"Yuck! Anyway, attack!" A white cat lashed out at them.
Bear leapt up and flipped onto the white tom's back. He clawed down his sides, his claws unsheathed. The white tom backed up on his back legs and flung Bear off. He went crashing to the ground, and a light brown tom leapt on him. He clawed at Bear's stomach fur, his claws digging deep into Bear's flesh.
Dove froze to the spot. She looked over at her mate, being torn apart. She focused so hard on him, she didn't notice a grey tabby leap on her. She was smaller than the others, and wasn't as vicious.
"Come with me!" She whispered. "I'll help you escape!"
"Why would you do that?" Dove murmured.
"Because, I hate my clanmates! They're mean, well, except for Dapplepelt," The grey tabby shrugged. "So, you want to be rescued or not?"
"But what about my mate!" Dove cried. "I can't leave him!"
At that moment, the white tom slid under Dove's paws. He flipped her over and got out, then clawing at her stomach. Dove tried to get up, but his paws were firmly holding her down, making it almost impossible to get up.
Dove watched the small grey tabby, her eyes wide in horror. She took a glance at Bear, who tried hard to fight against two cats. The light brown tom and dark brown she-cat were attacking him from both sides.
Dove looked up and saw the spotted grey tom cat leap to her side. He slid his paws under her and scratched at her back. Dove squirmed out of the white tom's grasp and managed to leap up. His green eyes had a glimmer of surprise in them as she clawed down his side.
Dove looked over to Bear, who had a cat up on his back, aiming for his neck.
"No!" Dove screamed. She ran over to Bear and began slashing at the brown she-cat.
The brown cat turned her head. She looked over Dove and behind her. Dove slowly turned around to see a dark ginger tom with white striped on his back and tail.
"No!" He said, glaring at Dove and Bear. "Those two, are mine!"

FanfictionHey, Author here. I wrote this book when I was 9 or 10. I recently reread it, and... yeah. It's terrible. To keep it in its true form, I have not changed anything. Even the typos. Yeah... Anyway, enjoy! Cover is by Leopardwillow867841 on the Warrior...
