I WAIT OUTSIDE my house patiently. I'm supposed to be running with Liam and Mason today.

No clue why they offered or why I agreed, but it's an excuse to see Liam. The last time I was able to see him was when we hungout after I woke up again.

He stayed with me and I woke up in my room. Liam was beside me, wanting to make sure I was okay. And I was. We talked, joked, laughed as he held me. It was comforting. He really was a good friend to me.

"Kat!"

I notice I zoned out and then center myself back to real time, shaking my head. The two of them are here, walking over.

I walk towards them, meeting them in the middle. Each of us have a smile on our faces as we greet each other before we head off.

👹

All three of us are jogging but Liam was acting strange. He's  been silent, distant. Not wanting to talk to Mason and I.

"Liam?" I ask lowly, "You okay?"

He absentmindedly nods, in his own little world. I sigh in response, letting it be for now. I won't start something when Mason's here.

"It's not just that we were friends with them. They were using us for their cover. I mean, professional killers were using us. How are you not freaking out about that?" Mason speaks, he's been going on about it for a while, unanle to comprehend the situation.

"Trust me, I'm freaking out about a lot." Liam mumbles before he takes off, running ahead of us.

"Liam! Wait!" Mason and I call out, but they go unheard as we lose sight of him.

"I'll get him." I murmur to Mason before taking off in the direction Liam went.

He lets me go, and I increase my speed. Surprisingly, I'm rather athletic, so I manage just fine.

👹

I slow down at a tree as Liam stops and I inhale sharply for air. He ran for ages, I have no clue why he's so troubled.

I squint as I see something in the distance, eyes growing large as I realise. "Liam! Get off the road!" I yell, moving my legs to rush over to him.

He looks back at me instead of in front of him and it's too late. He gets hit.

I gasp, watching him hit the ground. There isn't any major damage and I relax slightly knowing he's okay. He's a wolf. He'll be fine. All we have to do is get rid of the person who hit him.

Looking toward the car, I see someone stepping out. I hope the person leaves easily.

My eyes widen as the person comes into view and I see that it's Garrett. I automatically take a protective step in front of Liam. I need to keep him safe from the jackass in front of me.

When he moves closer to me, I kick my leg up and hit him. He stumbles back with a glare. I smirk in response.

He's quick to pull out a knife and my smirk falls. I establish my low odds.

Liam is telling me to stop, wanting me to move out of the way so he can handle things but I don't listen, too focused on saving him instead.

I go to kick Garrett again, whimpering as he cuts my calf with the knife. I stumble, doing my best to stay steady.

Liam growls lowly from behind me, wanting to intervene but he can't as I'm already trying to hit Garrett again.

I swing at Garrett with my fist, which he unfortunately catches. Maybe I'm not the best fighter.
