Lan Wangji is almost 25, and by now, all his friends (If people who are brave enough to greet him without getting a panic attack could be called that) have found their fated mates.

He is the only one left unmated in the group, but it's not like he's complaining.

The light bulb in his head goes off, and he stretches his hands forward, looking at them in disbelief.

Suddenly, the ground under his feet disappears and he finds himself being lifted by gentle hands,

It feels like he is in elevator, but the scent surrounding him is insanely good.

He is brought up to the eye level of a pair of almost transparent silver eyes, looking at him with awe.

"Y-You... me... mate..." Wei Wuxian mumbles to himself, and then Lan Wangji witnesses the moment when realization sinks in Wei Wuxian's head.

"WE ARE MATES?!" He exclaims, making Lan Wangji violently jolt, his new ears extremely sensitive to loud voice.

"Oh! Shit! I'm so sorry!" He immediately apologizes in hushed tone, bringing Lan Wangji close to his chest in a warm embrace, petting the soft fur of his back.

The moment Lan Wangji is surrounded by that enchanting scent and otherworldly warmth, he makes a grumbling noise and POOFF!!!

Suddenly he is back in his human body, Koala-hugging (idk if that's a thing), their faces inches apart.

Suddenly his breath quickens, causing his pheromones to leak.

The moment this happens, they hear another POOFF!! And finds himself on the ground, fallen on his butt, with an adorable red fox lounging on his chest, head tilted adorably, staring at his face with wide curious eyes.

Oh..

Now Lan Wangji Understands why is everyone so bent on finding their fated mates.

It is literally the happiest day of his life.
