The friend group

"Hi guys!" Armin happily greeted his friends group. But before they could respond, he stepped to the side showing Adelina standing behind him. They raised their eyebrows to study the girl. "This is Adelina." He said for her.

"Hi" She said raising her hand in a lazy motion holding up three fingers.

"Omg hello" The brunette stood up as if she was going to hug the new coming. She sat down realising that would be awkward. But she still smiled and made a sign for Adelina to come sit next to her. Which she did.

"Cool" Adelina muttered as the excited ponytail wearing girl scooted to the side to give some space. "My name is Sasha." she smiled. "She has math and psychological with me." Armin informed, letting everyone know where they met.

"Mikasa", "Historia", "Ymir", "Connie" they all introduced themselves. Adelina kinda did a nod to them all with a soft smile.

"Adelina huh? What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl." She turned to see a guy smirking at her holding himself up with too much confidence. His smile kinda reminded Adelina of a horse when it's laughing.

Blowing air under her top lip she just stared at him unimpressed. "My name is Jean...Kirstein." he reached his hand forward for her to shake, putting on his most seductive smile. She looked at him "Adelina...Germphobe." dismissing his hand. The people around the table laughed, well except for the horseboy.

"Man, I wouldn't take that if I was you Jean. She basically said you were disgusting." Connie said harshly patting Jeans shoulder while laughing. Jean slowly turned his head towards the short haired boy. Connie speedily jumped out of his seat and pressed himself in between Sasha and Mikasa.

He laid his head down on Mikasas shoulder and said "Protect me mommy" with pouting lips. She quickly shoved his head back making him fall of his seat. "Dumbass" She murmured.

"Well anyways" The blonde girl looked worriedly at the boy on the floor before shifting her eyes to Adelina. "Nice to meet you. Do you live here on campus or? I haven't seen you before so you must have just moved here. Where are you from? Your hair is so pretty by the way-"

"Not too much." Ymir sideyed Historia.

Historia giggled. "I apologize, it's just always so refreshing and interesting when we meet someone new." She said. Her smile was almost too bright for Adelina. Historia was extremely beautiful, almost looking royal.

"Um no you good. I just moved here. I came from another state. My dad moved here since both me and my brother started college here." Adelina informed with a shrug. "Oh really? So your brother goes to University of Paradis as well?" Historia followed up.

"No Marley State University." Adelina said. "Oh cool, I know a few people there!" Historia responded. Since Adelina did not ask any questions, the other started talking about other things. She enjoyed listening to them. They seemed chill.

"Look!" Connie had bitten out three holes in his pancake so it looked like a shocked face. Sasha slapped his face straight on so the pancakes stuck to his face, slowly gliding off, revealing an eye-squinting baldie. Adelina chuckled lowly as Connie started chasing Sasha. She admired their innocence and if it wasn't that, just plain idiocy.

All of a sudden she hears "Here" and sees Armin holding out a bowl of food. "It's todays special" he said as he opened the top of the paper bowl. "Oh uhh" Adelina reached in her bag to give Armin money for the food. "No need" he said protesting her payment. She tucked in her lips. "Thank you" she acknowledged.

It sounded weird to her - to say thank you. It made her internally cringe. She knows that it's just a feeling of old aggravation that releases every time she says it. It reminded her of a an old unpleasant memory.
