A few days had passed since Vulces met with Nariemi and his team. He was thinking about her speech all the time. He still couldn't come to his senses after Nariemi told him that "End is near".
Vulces:"What did she mean by that?"
Vulces spoke out loud, not intending to. Hearing his spoken thoughts, Jade chirped in.
Jade:"Who meant by what?"
Vulces:"Oh sorry I was just thinking to myself."
Jade gave Vulces a quick concerned look.
Jade:"Your face looks pale, are you sure you don't want to elaborate?"
Vulces sighed loudly.
Vulces:"I'm okay, don't worry."
Jade:"Hmm? Okay then."
As Jade ended her sentence and was leaving the room she turned back one last time and asked.
Jade:"By the way are you planing to apply to any job? You got your I.D. so you can go on some job interwieves."
Vulces:"I will think about it."
Vulces knew he was too busy to do what Jade said but he replied positively to avoid complications.
As he was about to turn off his computer he got an online message. He clicked on the app and opened the chat log with his friend, Elena.
"Hey Vulces, got your I.D. yet?"
He started typing rapidly on his keyboard.
Vulces:"Yeah, two days ago. Did you get yours?"
"Of course! 3-6-0-1-472"
Vulces:"Cool, are you available in the near future?"
"Oh ho? Are you asking me on a date?"
Vulces sighed. Sighing, he realized that he had been sighing more than usual lately. This thought made him sigh even more.
Vulces:"Let's say so, are you down for some coffe and chat?"
"Let me check my calender... Yeah I'm available tomorrow after 3PM. Is it good enough for you?"
Vulces:"Yeah, let's meet at the new coffee shop that just opened last week in the uptown."
"OK, hit me up when you're there."
Vulces logged off and turned his computer off. After laying in bed for a few minutes he realized the fact that he got himself a date with the girl he liked for a long time. Elena, a young, attractive girl with outstanding abilities.
The power to control lithium and carbon remotely, she could trigger lithium-water reactions from far away but that wasn't her most crucial point. Carbon, which makes up all known life forms, was her second element in control. With this in mind, she could have wiped out any life form known to man from ground up.
After taking a quick look at his wardrobe, Vulces noticed the fact that he didn't had any appropriate wear for his "Date". He awkardly made his way to his sister's room and knocked on the door.
Jade:"Come in~"
Vulces turned the door knob and found his sister working on her business. He cleared his throat and spoke.
Vulces:"Jade, you remember Elena right?"
Jade:"Oh Elena? That cute girl you had a crush on since middle school?"
Vulces:"Yeah... I got a date."
Jade choked on the granola bar she was munching on.
Jade:"For real!? My little brother finally made some progress in romance field?"
Vulces:"Stop joking around, I need some clothes to wear on the date."
Jade:"Just wear what you always wear..."
Vulces:"Really? You expect me to go on a date with sweatpants and an oversized hoodie?"
Jade:"Oh wait, you're right. I forgot that you had zero fashion sense."
Jade snickered at her own comment. After Vulces insisted on Jade to help him he finally got some advice. A black button up, a black trouser and a beige jacket.
Vulces picked up Aristle for the afternoon and went on shopping, Aristle wasn't happy to help but he didn't had the choice to refuse him.
Vulces tried the combination of clothes on and showed it to Aristle, he was surprised that the Vulces he knew who was always slacking off and always lazy doing something actually productive.
Vulces had everything in mind, he was going to ace that date. More importantly, he wanted to do something else, recruiting Elena for his team that is.
He knew she was really strong, when they were in middle school he saw her protect herself from a rabid dog using her blessing. He knew it would work on humans too.
Jade:"So are you ready for tomorrow?"
Vulces snapped out of his thoughts by sudden interaction of his dear sister.
Vulces:"Yes, I'm ready."
Jade:"Good luck then! Don't forget to be polite and open doors for her okay."
Vulces:"Thanks sister but I don't lack common sense that much."
Jade chuckled as she left his room.
Vulces was once again on his own, alone with his thoughts. He knew he would go crazy if he thought about tomorrow all night so he popped a sleeping pill and put himself to sleep manually.
