Rising to get a better look at herself, she stared through her reflection. This was the latest in a numerous amount of pep talks Kiara had used in order to bring herself back from the cusp of madness threatening to overtake her mind. She would have never believed that she would be one of those women who'd completely lose themselves after a breakup. She though she would have been stronger, more graceful, but how wrong she had been. Instead she was a blubbering mess, who for days would sit back and do nothing, unable to even bring herself to shower. She was pathetic.

There she was again, her mind in a constant turmoil. It felt as if she was always taking two steps backwards as the voices in her head became relentless, rendering her in self doubt. Taking a deep breath, Kiara made her way back into the living room, sinking into the couch that seemed to be her constant place of comfort these days. About to get the soup that she had pushed aside earlier, Kiara spotted something across the room- it was the book that she had written plans in for her bakery's grand opening. She remembered being so excited at the prospect of opening her own bakery in town. It had always been her dream, and was one of the main reason she hadn't left when her parents died.

Even though most of the town people hated her, they did love her baking, and would often buy her cakes and cookies when she had her pop up shop twice every month in the square. Hell, most of them would pay her to bake a cake for their birthday or any special events and she'd love it. Now there it was, dumped across the room with the few things she owned that Nick had thrown in her face when he kicked her out.

Leaving to get the book, Kiara went sitting in the spot and began to scroll through the pages. Smiling to herself she remembered Nick being so proud and supportive of her wanting to own a bakery. He had been so invested, suggesting ideas, coming up with names and even offering to help with renovations on his time off from work. She had so many plans with him. But in the end he had done nothing but thrown her to the side without an afterthought. It was hard to believe he was the same man now.

Forcing herself to concentrate Kiara begun to skip through the pages "maybe it isn't so impossible to open my bakery". Afterall it was time to take control of her life and stop living in the past. Finding comfort in this thought she continued to look through. Immersed in her book, she sat there for hours not realizing the passing of time as she delved into her plans, pouring over every details. By the time she had done it was nightfall already. And for the first time in weeks she found herself looking forward to something.

Setting the book aside Kiara cast a gaze over her apartment. It's poor condition reminding her of how far she had sunken in life since her separation, this wasn't who she was. Speaking out to no one in particular she declared out loud, "I'm going to open my bakery." Maybe it was a spur of the moment thing, but she believed that is was better than sitting around moping, wallowing herself into self pity. The prospect was thrilling, but she knew that it wouldn't be easy. She needed a job to support herself and start saving up for the business. "It's time to change my life, but first I need a job". Springing up from the floor, Kiara headed to the bathroom mirror. "No more of this Kiara, tomorrow we're going out and getting a job". Smiling with herself as she made the announcement Kiara felt a huge sense of achievement, and for the first time in weeks, she was actually excited for the next day to come.
