Jisoo stared at the gun aimed at her forehead. She swallowed nervously and watched Jennie's furious expression. Her heart was broken. Why is she doing this?
"Jennie...why?" Her voice was pained.
Jennie's eyes were hard but her hand on the trigger was slightly trembling.
"You killed my sister." She said firmly and cocked the gun.
Jisoo widened her eyes. I'm Ji-Sook. She's going to kill me because of it!
"Jennie! Wait! Wait! I'm...I'm not Ji-Sook." There....her cover was blown.
Jennie frowned. "Stop lying!" She stepped closer until the gun was pressed against her forehead.
"Jennie! Please!" Desperation was lacing her voice as well as fear. "I'm—I'm Kim Jisoo! I'm 28 years old! I work as a—as a acting coach and-and musical director in Seoul Valley Middle School! I-I went to Kilmartin University! I—I-I'm... I have a NIECE! Lia! She depends on me!"
Jennie's eyes were close to tears. "Please stop faking it! This was already harder than it was supposed to be!" She gripped the gun with both hands.
Jisoo dropped to her knees in front of her and bowed her head. Her hands on her knees as she begged Jennie. "Don't kill me! Please! I'm a doppelgänger! Ji-Sook is dead! I was brought in by the police! Give me a chance to explain!"
Jennie felt a tear slide down her cheek. She really wanted to believe her but how could this be? How could the one person that treated her with so much care look like the one she needed to kill?
Jisoo raised her hands up. "Don't you realize how different I am from Ji-Sook from the time of the accident? I'm Kim Jisoo! Please believe me!"
Jennie shook her head and closed her eyes. This version of Ji-Sook had always seemed different to her since the accident. Her being a twin of Ji-Sook was just as plausible as her being Ji-Sook. But that wasn't what was stopping her.
Her overwhelming feelings that she shouldn't have grown were stopping her. Every time she tried to pull the trigger, Ji-Sook in the hospital bed after saving her came to her mind. Ji-Sook arguing with her. Ji-Sook smiling beautifully at her. Ji-Sook kissing her. Every single memory she made with her caused her to stop from pulling the trigger. All her anger, fear...love...were bubbling to the surface and she...she realized her feelings. Except it was too late.
She already had the gun at her head. I have to get closure with Lisa's death. I have to kill her.
Her eyes darted to Ji-Sook's trembling hands and tear-stained cheeks. Jennie's heart clenched. She closed her eyes as a tear fell down her own cheek.
She started to pull the trigger.....
...when she felt a gun near her head as well. Her eyes shot open and her head spun. Kim Tae-hyung was holding it.
"Jennie?" He asked with surprise.
Jisoo looked up and looked between Jennie and Tae.
"Mr.Kim? I—" Jennie was shocked. Why is he here?
"Lower the gun, Jennie...and I can give you proof that Ji-Sook is dead."
The gun fell from her hands in front of Jisoo and Jisoo gasped in relief. Jennie was in shock.
Ji-Sook is...dead?
Jennie stared as Jisoo stood up, wiping her tears.
The raven was staring at her with open vulnerability. Her dark eyes bright with the setting sun. She reached her hand out and wiped the stray tear from Jennie's cheek with her thumb. Jisoo held her face gently and rubbed her thumb lightly over the brunette's cheek.
