PAYBACK TIME

C H A P T E R - 15

At MK Mansion,

The atmosphere of the house was not positive.

''What happened Alia?''Vikram asked her as soon as she walked out of her room.

''That Rayudu is such a waste. He actually took the case at first but then suddenly he declined. It's not Mr.Taneja stopping him there is someone else behind all this.''Alia said frustrated.

''We need to arrange a meeting with our share holders tomorrow. ''Vikram said.

''But why?The last meeting was just last week.''She questioned.

''Our company's name is totally tarnished because of Abhi. So the share holders want to talk with us.''Vikram said.

''What do you mean by because of my bhai. Wasn't your son arrested earlier for molestation. My bhai's case Is nothing compared to your son's allegations.''Alia said.

''Alia! Mind your words.''Pallavi shouted. She could not tolerate anyone who speaks against her family.

At the Police Station,

''Sir did you check the video footage of the party?''Purab questioned to the inspector.

''Mr.Khanna we had eye witnesses. So there was no requirement of the footage evidence to arrest him. But don't worry tomorrow in the court we'll provide the footage as an evidence.''The inspector Replied.

Purab sighed disappointed. ''Can I meet Abhi.''He asked.

''Yes, but don't take more than 10 minutes. Moorthy! Show him the cell to Mr.Mehra.''

Purab walked dejectedly. The constable Moorthy led him to Abhi's Cell.

Abhi was sitting in the corner of the cell dazed. ''Abhi'' Purab whispered audible enough for Abhi to hear. He whipped his head around and smiled on seeing his best friend.

''Hey Buddy.''Abhi said in a weak voice trying to lighten the mood.

''Sir, you only have five minutes.''Moorthy informed interjecting. Purab nodded in response.

''How's Dasi and Rhea?''Abhi asked.

''They're broken. It's tough for everyone without you there. But don't worry we'll get you out of this jail very soon.''Purab said with a weak smile.

''It's not the first time for me. If you're thinking that I'm rotting in the jail then you're wrong. I'm enjoying my time here. I've got two roommates. ''He said gesturing to two other criminals.

''You always take things easily.''Purab said.

''How are you feeling?''Purab asked after a pause.

''How am I feeling? Absolutely enjoying my time in this heaven.''Abhi replied sarcastically.

''I mean.... with Pragya Di being here and all.... '' Purab trailed off.

''I'm hurt buddy. I don't know what I've done to her that she made a false accusation on me. If she is angry with me let her be. If she hates me also it's okay. But the Pragya i know would never willingly send me to Jail. I feel that now she is different.'' Abhi said.

''Sir your time is up.''Moorthy informed. Purab sighed.

''Fine, don't worry Abhi. I'll do something and get you out of here as soon as possible.''Purab assured and walked away.

At Mehra-Kohli Mansion,

Purab reached there to find dejected faces. He understood that they have not found a lawyer yet. He didn't want to talk with Alia and spoil his mood further. So he went to check on Dasi.

Upon entering Dasi's room he found her sitting in the couch looking devastated. ''Purab''Dasi said acknowledging him.

''Thank god you came. I was waiting for you only. No lawyer is ready to take Abhi's case.''She said her voice croaking due to the tears that she is holding back.

''Don't worry Dasi. We'll soon find a lawyer.''Purab said and hugged her. But dadi was quick to break the embrace.

''How can I not worry? Abhi is in Jail. You all are saying we'll find a lawyer. But no one found a lawyer who is ready to help us.''She said angrily. When Purab was about to speak she bet him to it.

''That's why I have decided that I'll take the matters in my hand. I know my daughter Pragya will help me. I want to meet her. She'll get Abhi out of Jail like every other time.''Dasi said.

''But Pragya Di was there when Abhi got arrested.''Purab said.

''Why are you talking like Alia. I told this matter to you because I thought you will support me.''Dasi lashed at him.

Purab felt a sting due to her harsh tone but he let it slip. After all it was Dasi and she is devastated due to Abhi's Arrest. He was doubtful whether Pragya would help or not. He had seen the entire scene and one thing he understood was Pragya had given up on Abhi. Purab was not surprised by this if he would have been in his Pragya Di's position he would have given up on Abhi years back.

''Purab take me to Pragya.''Dasi ordered.

''But we need to find where Pragya di is staying.''He said.

''Then go find. What are you waiting for? ''Dasi said. Purab nodded and left the room. He wanted to find a lawyer but Dasi is asking him to find Pragya. He was confused but when he thought about this matter more and more he figured that finding Pragya is the better option. Even if Pragya is not ready to help Abhi, she'll atleast do it for Dasi.

''Hello Advik.''He said after dialing his Secretary's number.

''I want you to find where Ms.Arora stays.''Purab said.

''Sir, but for the past one month we have searched about Ms.Pragya Arora but still we couldn't find anything.''He replied.

''This time you find where is the Arora Induatries located in Delhi.''He said and ended the call.

If Alia's theory is correct then Pragya might be working as Mrs.Arora's PA. Then he could meet her in her office and have a chat with her along with Dasi.

That's how he found himself in Pragya's office the next day along with Dasi. They both were waiting in the lobby. Purab had already talked to the receptionist about meeting her Boss's PA. But the receptionist denied permission. But he was adamant on meeting her. So,the receptionist asked him to wait while she talks with her Boss's PA.

''Sir, I spoke with him. But he denies knowing anyone named Mr.Purab Khanna.''She said.

''But....Wait him! I think you misunderstood. I am talking about-''He was interrupted by a familiar voice.

''What's going on here?''The voice asked.
