I'm confused. So confused. One minute I'm cleaning the room and the next minute I find a picture of Alex with someone whose face is covered in dirt and is barely recognizable.
People weren't lying when they said that 'The Knights have secrets'
It was me who failed to understood.
I sat on the bed and closed my eyes.
I took the picture in my hands again and looked at it closely trying to figure out the person next to Alex in the picture.
They look similar.
Is he Alex's brother? But how can that be. Alex didn't tell me much but told me hisfamily was dead. They were all killedin front of his eyes.
This is so confusing. After 2 to 3 minuets of looking at picture in complete silence I kept it aside with the thought of asking alex and continued cleaning the closet.
In between I kept taking breaks by checking on grandma and making myself a snack.
It was lunch time and I was hungry. I went to the kitchen and started preparing food for myself and grandma.
The door clicked opened and Alex walked in with a smile on his face as usual.
"You're back early" I said
"Yeah I managed to finish the problem to see you" he said and winked.
I blushed.
He came in the kitchen and wrapped his arms around me and nuzzeled his nose in my neck.
"You're making lunch" he said
"Yeah, are you hungry?" I asked him.
He kept looking at me for a minute.
"What?" I asked
"You know I like this, you cooking for me, a family again. It feels so unreal. I've always wanted this. After grandfather it was just me and the boys" he said
I felt pity and happy for him for two reasons. First I was the reason he was happy and was glad I made him happy and second that he's got no one except his friends.
I turned around and hugged him. That hug was meant to let him know that I'm here for him. He's not alone now.
"It's ok I'm here now"
We pulled back after sometime and I told him to go and freshen up.
We had lunch with Alex teasing me and me turning crimson.
We were done and I washed the dishes although Alex kept saying that 'it's the servants job' but I gave him a look.
He went to go talk to grandma and I went up to our room.

I entered mammas room and saw her looking out the window in the garden.
I called out to her and she looked at me and smiled.
"You're here" she said
"Yes" I said kissing her forehead.
"I wanted to talk to you"
"Go ahead"
"I want you and Ethan to get married" she said. My eyes widened.
"Wha-what" I said
"Yes, you can keep him safe Alex, I know you will, just because you have enemies that doesn't meant Ethan dosen't and once you marry him people might back off or not but the risks of dying would be less"
That one line 'just because you have enemies that doesn't mean Ethan' doesn't' caught my attention.
"Mamma what do you mean Ethan has enemies" I asked being curious.
She smiled and held my hand and said "you'll know soon"
I nodded and kissed her forehead.
"Promise me one thing" she said holding my hand tightly
"Anything" I said.
"You'll keep Ethan safe, you won't let anything happen to my baby. I can't keep him safe anymore" she said as a tear drop came out of her eyes
I wiped them and said "I'll protect him with my life mamma and you're not worried about me?" I said with a sad face
She slapped my arm softly and said "oh I know you, and you're my second baby and I don't want anything happening to any of my babies" she said
I pouted cutely.
"I'm still angry at you" she said huffing
I laughed knowing why she's angry.
"You can have your chocolate pudding after dinner" I winked at her.
Her twinkled.
"But Ethan won't let me" she said making a sad face.
"Don't worry he will let you eat some today" I said smirking.
Seeing my smirk she smirked too and we both shared a laugh.
I kissed her forehead again and went out of the room.
I entered our room only to see Ethan reading a book looking cute.
He saw me and kept the book aside. I pulled him on the bed with me and hovered over him.
He smiled but his smile faded as if he remembered something.
"Alex can I ask you something and you promise to answer truthfully" he asked keeping his hands on my chest.
"You don't have to take permission" I said kissing his cheek.
"Did you have any siblings?" He asked making me freeze.
