"Stiles! Kat! Time for school!"

Claudia Stilinski called up the stairs to her two children while putting pancakes on each of their plates. It had been three years since the Hale Family left for Louisiana to help the Crescent Moon Pack and one year since all communication had stopped. It had been a rough year for the Stilinski siblings not being able to communicate with their mates nor reach them magically which Kat had done many times before exhausting herself so bad that she had to be hospitalized and wore a magic tamper necklace. She could only do simple spells to a certain level and if she went over, she would have to deal with Xiomara who took over as the Hale Emissary after Deaton's betrayal.

The first of the siblings awake was Kat, getting ready to some music when she heard her mother's call. She pressed two fingers to her lips and kissed them, placing the fingers on a picture of Laura that the female Hale sent in a care package of grimoires and crystals which Kat had spread out around her room. The girl grabbed her schoolbag and went into her brother's room who was tying his shoes on, looking up when he heard Kat enter his room. "Wow. Actually up for once. What's the occasion?" Kat smirked and Mieczyslaw who now decided to go by Stiles rose, grabbing his own bag. "Scott and I are going to try out for lacrosse."

The two left the room, heading down the stairs. "You think Coach will pick you? I mean, McCall does have asthma and you-" Kat started and Stiles finished. "I won't use my fox powers. I know. We have to lie low so I will just play human." Stiles rolled his eyes, folding his arms and Kat's gaze softened, placing a hand on his arm. "It sucks. I get it." Stiles softened too and sighed heavily, nodding. "Have you been getting any sleep? Without my potions?" Kat whispered and Stiles shook his head. "I just keep feeling like something is wrong." Kat was about to speak but Claudia entered the hall. "Good morning you two. Breakfast is getting cold, why don't you go eat?" She smiled and the two kits smiled back before heading into the kitchen.

After breakfast, they met with Scott who was just pulling up to the school parking lot on his bicycle while Stiles parked Claudia's old Jeep. "Hey guys! Stiles, ready for lacrosse practice?" The crooked jawed boy smiled and it took everything for both Stilinskis to smile back. Before the Hales left, Kat and Xiomara had to wipe Scott's memory, removing the dark force of Alpha from him and twist his memories around. Kate was done the same, 'called' on business in France. What neither Stilinski couldn't forget was how Scott had easily sided with hunters hell bent on killing them but they had to be his friend to avoid trouble and keep their promise to their pack.

"You know it Scotty boy." Stiles said with a smile that dropped as soon as Scott left inside. Stiles groaned and placed his arms and head on the wheel, Kat rubbing his back. "Was that as sickening for you as it was me?" Kat chuckled softly. "I wanted to smack that smile off his face. Good thing we were taught Hale restraint." She giggled and Stiles chuckled with her. "God I miss them." The chuckled turned to a sad tune, tears filling Stiles' eyes. "I miss Derek." Kat's gaze saddened as she took her brother's hand. "I miss Laura. I can't tell what I miss more about her. Her smile or how protective she used to hold me in my sleep."

Stiles smiled. "I think I miss how close he always stayed. The way he tampered my anger. Guess that's why I have this." He shook his wrist which had a black leather banded with a Hale triskele charm in the middle and D.H engraved on the back.  "Is it still working? Do I need to boost?" Kat asked and Stiles shook his head. "Nothing to be angry at but myself." "Hey, it was just as much my fault as it was yours." Kat squeezed his hand and Stiles looked to her. "You saved us. More than once. If anything, you make me proud to be your brother." Kat smiled and gave Stiles a side hug, Stiles reciprocating immediately. "They'll come home someday. Even if we have to find them."

Timeskip

Stiles decided that since tonight was his night to patrol the Preserve, he'd take Scott with him for a little mischief. He had spooked the boy but the two were walking around when Stiles felt a strange yet familiar tickle in his mind and in his chest. He paused, his fox scenting the air. "Dude? Stiles, what is it?" Scott asked, pausing and looking back when he saw his friend paused. "I just..thought I heard something." He felt his phone buzz and pulled it out to see a text from Kat.

Kitty Kat 🐱: Tell me you felt that too?

Mischief🦊: Do you think it's them?

There's was bubbling before it disappeared and Stiles put his phone away, he and Scott walking around before the sound of a wolf howling made them stop. "That's weird." Scott noted but Stiles said nothing, feeling hope but also worry. Hopefully it was a Hale because if it was a rogue or an omega, he had to get Scott out of here and report to his parents. "Yeah, we should go." Stiles said and just when he and Scott was about to head back to the jeep when it sounded like the howling was getting closer and the feeling was like harp string being touched in Stiles' chest.

"Scott, run!" He pushed the boy ahead, stumbling at the feeling in his own body. His fox wanted to react, his phone was buzzing, it was all too much, too fast. He could feel his bracelet tightening around his wrist but he could only focus on getting Scott to safety. Scott had just gotten in the Jeep, Stiles tossing him the keys when he felt jaws around his ankle and pull him into the woods. "Stiles!!" He could hear Scott call but Stiles was dragged, dragged, dragged until he was far away from Scott and the jeep. With that, he turned with a snarl, ears sharpening and eyes glowing bright orange, claws digging into the dirt to face the wolf before him.

"Mieczyslaw?" He felt in his head and paused. That voice. He knew that voice. "Mieczyslaw Lucerys Stilinski? Son of John and Claudia?" This wolf knew him. Personally if the middle name was anything to go by. The wolf shined his eyes, beta gold, sitting on its haunches and Stiles decided to use his fox to see, the fox recognizing the eldest Hale sibling as the soul of the wolf. "Jamie?" Stiles cocked his head and when he got a nod, his tail wagged, tackling the wolf. "James Theodore Hale!! Where the fuck have you been?!" Stiles was snarling now, hackles raised. "You abandoned us! Went silent!! Why?!" Jamie surrendered under Stiles, eventually pushing him off to rise, shaking the leaves from his fur.

"There's trouble. We're stuck. Louisiana. Witches." Jamie replied through the bond and paused when he could hear Scott coming close. Stiles fought a groan and sighed, shifting back to his human form. "Meet me at my house in ten minutes. Kat and Mom are home, my dad is still at work. We'll talk then. Can you shift?" Jamie shook his head and Stiles sighed. "We'll see if Kat can find a way to bring your human side forward. For now, get out of here." Stiles waved him off and Jamie immediately listened, hiding in the shadows while Stiles talked Scott down, pretending to limp to throw him off.

Once he got Scott dropped off at home, Stiles headed for his own, seeing Kat and Claudia snarling at Jamie at the edge of the barrier. He quickly parked the Jeep and rushed over. "Mom, Kat, wait! It's Jamie. It's him!" The two Stilinski women looked at him, pausing. "How do you know?" Kat asked past her fangs. "Check with your eyes. He's stuck in his wolf form. They all are." It took a moment but once confirmed, Kat let Jamie through. "He can't shift?" Claudia asked. "He said that there's trouble. They're all trapped in Louisiana. Like this." Stiles said and Jamie nodded. "I can see if I can force him to shift. He'd be in pain but it's temporary."

Kat looked to Jamie who looked at her. "I trust you." She heard and looked to her mother. Claudia was nervous at first but sighed. "Just this one spell." Kat squealed and apparently knew which one she wanted. "Fer hominem, lupum retro repelle. Iterum fac eos." Kat gestured her hands before pushing them towards Jamie who whined before shifting before their very eyes. He covered his junk and Stiles was quick to hand over his jacket. Jamie had grown since they had last seen him. He had the signature Hale hair color, black as a raven with eyes blue as an ocean. He was much older now, muscled and fair.

Jamie took a deep breath, staying on the ground before sighing. "Aunt Claudia, Kat, it's so good to see you again." He said, holding back his tears. It didn't take long for both women to embrace him, Claudia kissing his head. "It's good to see you as well, James. Why don't you come inside and get some food? I'm sure you're starving. I'm sure I can find a pair of John's clothing for you to wear." He cupped his cheeks and Jamie held her wrists, feeling safe. He looked over at Kat and smiled, pulling her into a hug. "Hello, baby sister." Kat chuckled. "I'll let you do that once." Jamie smiled and rose with their help.
