"No! No! Stop it! Let me go!"

The guard keeps carrying me until I hit a cold, hard floor.

"You have to let me out!"

He walks out, not saying anything.

I look around at my new surroundings.

I'm in a huge room with gold lining the walls, a queen sized bed, a dresser, closet, filled with clothes of all colors, a huge window sits to the side, overlooking the outside forest. Another room with a copper colored bathtub, tiled floors and white colored walls.

Why is this happening? What will happen now? Are Kill, mama and papa alright? Is the village alright?

I stay as I am, sitting on the floor.

There's no way I'm using any of this. No way I'm doing anything they say. They can't make me.

I sit there, groggy, with thoughts running through my head. I lay down on the floor due to the discomfort sitting up brings. My eyes slowly close, leaving only darkness.

...

My breath hitches in my throat. I open my eyes to see the face of another guard.

"Get up. You will begin training immediately."

"Like hell—"

A kick to the stomach like the one he woke me up with. I groan, my stomach already being sore from the last one.

"That tone and the words coming out of your mouth with be gone soon enough."

He grabs me by my hair and drags me out of the room. I scream, grabbing at his wrist. He continues dragging my body until we get outside of the palace walls. He doesn't let go even after stopping.

"You do not have to drag her like that."

"I can do, and will do, whatever I please, Durast. Now, do your job."

He lets go after pulling my hair for the hell of it. A man walks to me and offers his hand. I slap it away and stand on my own.

"My name is Arthur. You are Iris, I presume?"

I stare at him, not opening my mouth. He nods and walks over to a table full of weapons. He waves me over to him.

"Pick your weapon. You will learn to use all of these, but for now, you need to start off with something you choose."

I looked over the multitude of weapons. Ranging from a small knife, to a rifle. I pick a medium sized blade up and swing it at the face of Arthur. He easily dodges it.

"None of that now."

He grabs the blade from my hand and throws it back on the table. He looks me, and the weapons over.

"I think this would do you some good."

He picks up a set of pistols and hands them over to me. I grip the handles and hold them up, scanning them.

"Point at the targets over there."

I glance at him before turning my gaze to a red target dummy's. I raise the pistols up and pull the triggers. I fire directly through the heads of the dummy's.

"Great work. You don't need any training when it comes to guns then."

He grabs the pistols from me and hands me a sword. We both fight with them. I win. It's the same thing with all of the weapons.

"Who trained you?"

I don't answer. I look over at the table.

"Will I..be able to keep a few of these?"

"Yes, but not until you have proven to be trusted. Anyway, we need to work on your hand-to-hand combat."

I nod and do what is told.

We work on this until he says it's time for me to leave.

"Where do I go?"

"Wherever in this palace you want. I must warn you, there are guards everywhere you turn."

I nod and walk off. I wonder until I find a huge set of doors up a stairwell. I push one open and peek inside.

Books. Shelf's and shelf's of books. A library.

I walk inside and look around. I search through until I find one that sounds interesting.
