"Let me in, Cel!" I heard Sebastian yell outside of the Hufflepuff common room the next morning. "You've got to let me explain."

I stood there, ignoring him. I had to stay far, far away from him if I knew what was good for me. I slid down the wooden wall in between us, dropping my head in my hands. I was in complete, and utter defeat.

"Celestial... I told myself I wouldn't talk to you. But, it's obvious you need someone now more than ever," Poppy's familiar voice chimed in. I didn't look up at her, just listened intently. "I should have never abandoned you... especially with someone like Sebastian." She slid down and wrapped her arm around me.

But I just continued to flinch at the loud knocks and bangs on the door.

"Please talk to me! Ominis simply never understood me!" Sebastian continued to yell out.

"I think he understood you a little too well..." I mumbled back, doubting he would be able to hear me.

"Mr. Sallow, what do you think you are doing, causing a ruckus outside the Hufflepuff rooms?" It was Professor Sharp. I suddenly stood up, afraid Sebastian would lash out.

"Don't talk to me like that, thinking you're just better than me..." I heard Sebastian mutter. "Crucio!"

I heard screams outside the wall and my eyes widened. Did he just use the Cruciatus curse on Professor Sharp?

I opened up the door quickly to find myself face to face with Sebastian - his eyes once again a striking green.

Professor Sharp's limp, lifeless body lay at the entrance to the Hufflepuff room. I fell to my knees, immediately attempting to find a pulse. But, there was no use. He had to have been dead.

"I can't save us, Sebastian," I sighed in utter defeat. He looked down at me.  It seemed as if those words struck him with a sudden force.

That's when Professor Black and Professor Weasley grabbed Sebastian by his arms, leading him away and maybe even out of the castle.

Either way, they were taking him away. His power had gotten the best of him.

I sat on Professor Sharp's shallow breathing chest, crying into it. I couldn't bear losing another Professor who believed in me.

"Please... please stay Professor. I can't lose another one," I muttered into his black coat. "I can't lose everything I've ever known."

"Miss... he will be alright, but we must get him to the infirmary. Now!" A nurse yelled at me as she transformed his body.

I sat there, alone, on the cold hard ground. I began to wipe my tears away.

"Oh, dear Cel. You and Sebastian sure built that town on shaky ground..." Poppy mumbled.

"We were never supposed to be together, were we?" I asked her, my eyes red and lachrymose. She looked to the floor and shook her head.

"The level of undeniable power you two hold in your wands would only be the cause of mass destruction and possibly the end of life as we know it," she explained. I nodded at her statement but nevertheless felt empty inside. "If it's any consolation, I believe Sharp will be just fine."

Back at the infirmary, Professor Weasley saw as I stood at the entrance, not wanting to step foot in.

"Miss Lovegood. He is alright. You saved him, indeed," she spoke, putting her hand on my shoulder.

"I saved him? How could I do that?"

"That vial he asked you to fetch for him, it was a cheat death potion. He concocted it for you, for if anyone were out to get you, considering the amount of powers you weld in that wand of yours," she said as I looked over at Professor Sharp. "It's important that you stay alive."

He had more color to his face now. Breathing was steady.

"But, I merely got the water from the Forbidden Forest pond..."

"It wasn't just that. Your tears. When they mixed into his bloodstream and blended together, they proved to be one of the greatest and most powerful of potions."

"My tears?"

"It is the power you hold, in the way you breathe, the tears you cry. Every step you take is full of an enormous amount of energy," she smiled. "You saved Professor Sharp."

I smiled at her as I began to walk over to him. He lay in his bed, the curse scarring his face.

I stood there trying to understand how the Cruciatus curse had done so much damage. Two years ago, Sebastian used it on me in the scriptorium, but it didn't come this close to killing me.

However, maybe its power is much more potent and defined as you get older and more frail.

I sat next to Professor Sharp. "Are you alright, Professor?" He looked up at me and nodded slowly.

"I am, thank you, Miss Lovegood. You have truly proven to be a catalyst for a better society. Your powers can save us, I don't have a singular doubt about it..." he trailed off as he fell into a deep sleep from exhaustion.

"I won't let you down, Professor, I will make sure this never happens again."
