This is a different POV of the scene in the final gambit where Grayson and Jameson go to get Eve when she went to the Blake house, and when Jameson locked Avery in the Crystal escape room.

Enjoy the read!!

(Jamesons POV)

I knew she would be mad. Furious about this. But I needed to keep her safe. That's all I wanted right now.

I lead her up to a hobby room on the third floor. No matter how many questions she asked, I had to ignore her. She was very good at interrogating now.

I scanned the model trains on the table, looking for the button. Click. The wall behind us opened. I knew of this escape room because of the many times Grayson had locked me in here.

If I knew Avery, it would take her short of a couple hours. The obsidian and agite crystal walls glimmered in the reflection of the sun coming from a window on the other side of the room.

I had to make sure she wouldn't come after us. As she stepped inside, still in awe of all the colours, I took it as my chance. I leaped back to press the button on the train, locking her in there.

She can't follow me. She has to be safe. I knew I was doing the right thing, but I also knew she wouldn't believe me.

I ran down the stairs to find Grayson. I called Avery on the way down to explain. She seemed mad. I knew she would keep resisting safety and help from others, so I forced it on her unknowingly.

I found Grayson and we took off to find Eve. I still didn't trust her, but I knew the only way Grayson would trust me, is if I at least pretended I trusted Eve.

The trip was quiet. I thought about mr and mrs Laughlin, how they seemingly have new family members every couple of months. About Rebecca, and how no matter who is there, her mother ignores her. That's why she's always at Hawthorne house, I thought. About Emily who Eve so closely resembled.

Deep down we all knew what Grayson had felt so close to Eve. And no matter what anyone says about it, he denies it. About how he's trying to save Eve, the way he couldn't save Emily.

As we finally arrived at The Blake's house, we saw a very angry Eve pacing in front of a building. It couldn't be the house, but looked like a ticket stop. "They won't let me talk to anyone." Eve sighed. Grayson moved closer to her. Tilted her head up and stroked a finger though her hair. "Mr Blake won't come out easy, but we'll find a way Evie."

Evie? Since when? I felt awkward and useless so I finally said something. "We'll make him talk." Eve looked a bit surprised as I spoke. As if she didn't know I was there.

"Where's Avery?" She said. Ignoring my previous statement. "She's, still back at the house." "Of course she is."Eve rolled her eyes. "She really doesn't like me you know." It was my turn to roll my eyes. "We made her stay. Right Gray?"

He didn't say anything. Just looked at Eve helpless. But finally, after many minutes, we finally deciding against staying any longer.

The ride back to the house was even more excruciating. Grayson and Eve were huddled talking on one side of the car, and I was alone on the other side.

When we finally arrived back, i went straight to the hobby room. As i opened the escape room, i found it empty. I smiled at the fact that she did indeed escape it, but then thought about the fact that she wasn't in the house.

I looked around for Xander, but he was nowhere to be found either. Or Thea, or Rebecca. Where did they go? How long have they been gone?

I waited around impatiently for awhile. I thought the car ride was hard, this was way harder. Not knowing if your girlfriend was alive or not? I supposed I was being a little dramatic, and  a little used to it, but that doesn't mean it gets easier. Finally, from a bench in the gardens, I saw a black car pull up. I walked to the gates and waited for them to all pile out.

As she walked out, looking happier than she had before, I had to mask my smile. I loved her, but some of the things she did, made me so god damn annoyed.
