the next day i realised i had to tell my dad of my plans to move out to California with Emily and opening up my own law firm but i wanted to tell Harry first for some advice, so i called him and liz over for brunch it would be nice if liz and emily. puls get on like me and harry.

"should i be scared? because i feel scared"

"of harry and liz? you've met harry before? and elizabeth likes everyone"

"yeah but not when we were dating dating ya know i mean what if he doesn't really like me as your girlfriend" she was fiddling with her outfit trying to flatten it out and and started trying to fix her hair even though it looked perfect as always, i stood in front of her and held her hands down by her side then kissed her

"he's gonna love you em it's okay" harry and liz walked in, he immediately bear hugged me which with my stitches kind of hurt but i didn't say anything

"kid it's good to see you out and about you scared me there laying in that bed"

"thanks harry, hey liz, nice to see you again, i don't believe you've met Emily" Emily smiled and shook hands with Elizabeth then we all sat down

"careful Harry if you eat all the sandwiches you could end up looking pregnant, wouldn't want the press getting the wrong idea about you" harry and liz looked at eachother then back at me

"well about that..." i looked between the two and was deeply confused

"i didn't want to make an announcement this big at our brunch because you've been through a lot but.."

"but what" harry looked at me like i was dumb and then i looked at emily to see if she understood what was going on and she lent over and whispered to me

"y/n liz is pregnant" i immediately squeeled and ran behind liz and harry hugging them both at once

"im gonna be a god mother" i squeeled some more and eventually sat back down and kicked harry's knee under the table

"i cant believe you weren't gonna tell me, this is amazing news" he kicked me back

"how far along are you?" emily asked liz shyly as me and harry had a kicking match under the table

"3 months"

"are you nervous?"

"i mean i have been putting up with this man for years and he's basically just a big kid around y/n so i guess not really"

"yeah i get you y/n turns into such a kid around harry" me and harry were too busy kicking eachother and throwing peanuts at eachother to hear their conversation

"i must say ive known y/n since 4th grade and she seems much happier with you around than i think i've ever seen her" emily looked at me and me and Harry finally noticed them talking and we calmed down with the jokey violence

"what're we talking about ladies"

"you two buffoons" liz replied and me and harry pulled an exaggerated shocked face

"so have you two got any plans for the future" liz asked and i held Emily's hand

"we'll actually yes"

"well go on spill"

"Emily and i are moving out to California, im going to start my own law firm and she's got a job working for our interpol office"

"wow that's amazing, i guess we are going to get to be neighbours after all"

"what!! you guys are coming to California too?"

"surprise!!" no way, i'll get to see the baby EVERY DAY this is amazing, oh Emily isn't this the best news you've ever heard" she smiled at me and turned back to her drink

"what did your dad say about California"

"well actually i haven't told him yet, with him planning his election re-run i don't want to stress him out even more"

"when do you plan on moving"

"i start my job at Interpol in 4 weeks"

"y/n you're gonna have to tell him like yesterday"

"yeah i know and i will i just i don't want to hurt his feelings not after he just changed his whole belief system for me and now i'm leaving him"

"y/n we don't have to go if you don't want to"

"no em i want to go, i really really want to go i want be with you and i want to help people"

"well we should head off we have a drs appointment so i guess y/n, emily we'll see you in California" he kissed me and emily on the cheek and they walked out i sighed and put my head on emily's shoulder she wrapped her arms me and stroked my back

"i have to tell him today don't i"

"yeah you do"

"this is really gonna suck isn't it"

"probably, yep"

"it'll all work out though won't it?"

"yeah of course it will, just imagine you hanging out with your god child watching a film on the couch after a long day with your girlfriend who loves you very much and your bestfriend right next door"

"that does sound pretty great" i lifted my head off her shoulder and put my hands on her waist

"right you've persuaded me, i'm gonna go tell him" she kissed me on the head and walked me to my dads office

"yeah of course sweetie" he raised his eyebrows at the door and everybody else left the room

"what's up?"

"i was just hoping that we could talk"

"you got anything in particular in mind" he was looking through paperwork on his desk

"i don't really know how to say it so i guess i just will, im moving to my house in California that's next door to the house Harry bought" he looked up from his work and stood up

"dad i didn't want to upset you because you've been so understanding about everything but i just, i need a fresh start, i can finally put my law degree to some use"

"and what about agent Prentiss?"

"she got a job offer in California"

"bit soon to be moving in together isn't it?"

"i have known Emily for over a year dad and i've spent every day since then with her, and i have loved every minute of it, you said when you met mom you instantly knew she was the love of your life that's how i feel about Emily" he leant on his desk and eyed at me to sit by him so i did

"and moving to california would make you happy"

"really happy"

"want help finding a building for the firm?"

"you mean it's okay?"

"of course it's okay, i told you i just want you to be happy, just promise you'll come home for christmas" i leant my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arm around me

"and you'll visit me?"

"of course i will"
