PROLOGUE

SHE NEVER WANTED TO BETRAY HER COUNTRY, but she also needs to live. She was born right after Japan colonized Korea. In 1910, Japan took over Korea, their culture, their clothing, and their language was forgotten and instead applied Japan's culture, language, and clothing. In 1910, Kang Miyeon was also born, she wanted Joseon to be a free nation when Miyeon was a kid. But right after 1919, March 1st, she stopped dreaming that she would fight for her country because she realized how cowardly she is. She was 19, and she saw her parents get shot many times by the Japanese soldiers for just protesting for their independence.

She hid and met Ko Chi-won, and Han Hyun Joon, who were also victims of that incident because they also lost their parents. Chi-won and Hyun Joon want to fight, but Miyeon surrenders and instead encourages the two of them to save their lives. And the only thing that they answered was, "That's too selfish."

But even after years of being best friends, they decided to live safely. They went to Japans' side, and not their country's side. Chi-won and Miyeon became secret agents, Hyun Joon is in charge of weapons to use. They also met Min Tae Hee who can help them and became a new member of their gang. She studied medicine and was in charge of treating them if anything happens.

They built an organization in their late 20s, they have their people, and they also successfully built their hotel named, Solis Occasum which means 'setting of the sun."

They served the Japanese government by looking for the other groups who wanted independence and eventually killed them. "Koreans will kill fellow Koreans," That phrase stuck to their heads—But they just had to make a living.

The four of them had to look for the people who barged on the Japanese government. Gyeongseong is the old name of Seoul. They plan to kill a group of fighters that attacks the Japanese government in a form of secrecy. They plan secretly, they kill secretly. The four of them gathered around a secret room of their Hotel, "Tonight, let's hope that they will attack this 8, prepare our comrades, Miyeon will be our sniper for a while, and since we've found out their escape route, Chi-won and the other comrades will be standing by their and block them," Hyun Joon starts to speak.

"You guys found out their escape route?" Tae Hee asks, and the three of them look at her.

"Yes, why?" They jinxed.

"Nothing, you guys are really smart," She complimented. Hyun Joon asks Tae Hee if it's alright to leave her here and she agrees. "Can I go out for a while later?" She asked and Hyun Joon agreed. Min Tae Hee also knows how to shoot and kill, it's just that, treating them is her priority, it depends if they wanted her to join and kill.

"Be safe, I will wait for you here," Min Tae Hee says while Miyeon, Chi-won, and Hyun Joon are getting ready to catch that group.. Han Hyun Joon was in charge of buying those imported guns, he was the most resourceful among them. Min Tae Hee studied medicine by herself for years, it was useful after all. Ko Chi-won and Kang Miyeon were in charge of going out, wearing masks, killing people, and their shooters, out of the four of them, two of them were the bravest ones.

"Make sure to come back because we will need you," He favored Tae Hee while she nodded. "We should dress like normal people so that they won't notice us," He adds.

Chi-won wore a coat looking like a businessman, Hyun Joon wore formal attire at least to attract girls after his work. Miyeon came out of the room wearing a man's clothes and also a cap to cover her face. "I hate you looking like a good-looking man," Hyun Joon mocks Miyeon and they all chuckled.

"Admit it, you just hate it when I dress up like this because you know that I'm more handsome than you," Miyeon fights back. "Thus, I'm braver than you, and you acted like a brave one even though you're scared of spiders," She adds with a smirk.

"I can hug a spider to prove it to you," He nervously responded. And the three of them burst into laughter. Their friendship was indeed beautiful, but a certain move can ruin their friendship. Miyeon starts teasing Hyun Joon and chases him, they look like kids playing tag. Min Tae Hee was sitting on a bar counter and watching them having fun. Miyeon's boyfriend is also watching them having fun—Chi-won.

"Do you want to start this plan or what?" Chi-won interrupts, while the two of them stop. "We have to go," They said their goodbyes and left the Hotel with their guns. Miyeon went out not looking like a woman—but looking like a man. She wore a mask and a hat, the guns were hidden inside their long black coats. Miyeon's hair was hidden inside the hat.

The walk was silent, they were not talking nor making any sound. Chi-won might want to say something to Miyeon, even if they're together, they don't look like a couple, he doesn't want their relationship to be ill-fated. Miyeon is not the type of woman who's sweet nor cold. Chi-won thinks she was forced to like him. They only talk about the weather and their conversation was filled with the word:

'Are you okay?' or 'How are you feeling?'

No serious talks were involved in their relationship, Chi-won sighs as they walk, "How are you feeling?" He asks.

"I'm fine, I feel a little tired," She responds. Chi-won sighs for the second time because Miyeon talks more freely to Hyun Joon than him. The number of words that Miyeon says to Hyun Joon is just half when she talks to Chi-won. They both shiver as the cold wind passes by them. They turn left, and right, and left again.

Chi-won keeps his shoulders away from Miyeon, he was scared that he might bump Miyeon's shoulder. He keeps the distance long between them as if they weren't together.

Chi-won accompanied Miyeon on her way to a building to wait for a target—it's been months since she wasn't in charge of being a sniper. Chi-won walked down the building and sat in front of a store with his comrades to wait for their target. "I didn't know you would be here," Chi-won says as Hyun Joon walks towards him.

"I had to,"

"What about Tae Hee?"

"Don't worry, I left some guys to guard her," He replies as he grabs a newspaper beside him and fakes reading it.

"Are you interested in her?" Chi-won asks.

"Who?"

"Our nurse, Min Tae Hee," Chi-won says slowly.

"Why would a playboy like her?" He frowns.

"Despite that you two were married, will you ever like her?"

"What kind of question is that? Why should I? Besides, I know someone prettier," He says and leaves. Hyun Joon and Tae Hee married 3 months ago, because that is the only way to build their hotel. Tae Hee's family was wealthy, and they needed bucks to build their hotel. So they got married for financial purposes only.

Hyun Joon went up the building to see Miyeon. "How are you?" Hyun Joon starts.

Miyeon smirks as she fixes the position of her gun. "Why are you here?"

Chi-won watches Miyeon laughing and talking to Hyun Joon at that building which he never experienced from her. He had been thinking what option should he choose for Miyeon's happiness, should I ask to marry her? Or should I let her go?

Miyeon's gun fell off to the ledge of the building. "What did you do?" Miyeon whines.

"Mianhae," He says as he scratches his forehead. Miyeon doesn't know what to do because her gun was stuck on the ledge three meters away from her. She climbs off the ledge that made Hyun Joon and Chi-won drop off their jaws. "Woah, what are you doing," Hyun Joon adds.

"I don't have a choice, you're scared of heights," She insists as she climbs up to the ledge. She set her feet over the ledge and slowly reached for the gun.

"Sniper!" Hyun Joon yelled as the guns were fired. The enimies also had snipes hiding and they started firing. They all look like prepared.

Miyeon was still on the ledge and she slipped. She's hanging on the building. "Hyun Joon, help me," She nervously says.

"You might get shot too," He responds. Miyeon was straining to get up. Suddenly she got shot and fell of the ledge. She landed on the roof of the second floor of the building. Chi-won and Hyun Joon both yelled her name, Miyeon!
