Author's POV: Next morning Jade woke up with the face demanding to know the truth. Jade was confirmed that something was off but she didn't know how to find out the truth. She decided not to tell Sebastian anything about what she heard. She wanted to find out the truth by herself. For the first few hours, Jade was mentally disturbed. The words of her grandparents were ringing in her head. Suddenly an idea struck in her mind. She was currently living at her grandparent's house. She decided to go to her house, in her parents room and find out some clue if possible. Jade had the keys of her house. She quickly opened the drawer and took out and ran out. As she reached on the doorstep of her house and opened the main door with the keys, all the memories flooded back. She as a kid running in the whole house, while her parents trying to catch her and all those memories which she had with her lovely parents while she was a kid started invading her emotions. A minute ago, she was calm and serious and right now she was flowing in those emotions.

Jade's POV: I tried to maintain my composure but ultimately a tear escaped from my eyes. The whole house was dusty. Spiders made their shelter on the roofs. I entered in my house after three years. The last time I entered was to pack my things after my parents funeral. I decided not to get emotional again and set off to do the work for which I was here. I immediately went to my parents room. Their room was the same as it was 4 years ago. Even the location of their things were same. I first started searching drawers. It had three columns. The first section consisted of old antiques which my mother inherited from her father. Second section consisted of dad's office documents. I tried to search for some information or clue among his documents but it was no worth. Something made me believe that I should search carefully among those documents again. I once again searched among the pile of documents and something caught my attention interestingly. I got a document containing the papers related to our land. It was some legal papers for property. I was perplexed. Well I myself don't know why because these papers have nothing to do with my life still I was pondering of any possibility. I was told by my grandfather that the land was ancestral and I was the next heir of the land. Currently the land was still of my father. My father's signature were on these land documents. I decided to keep those documents back to its place. I got this gut feeling that there is a big clue in this room but I couldn't figure out what it was. The third column consisted of all the jewellery that my mom loved. My last hope was the cupboard. I started searching for any clue in the cupboard. I examined minutely each drawer but found nothing. I grew impatient. I wanted something, some clue so badly. I checked all pockets of my dad's clothes and suddenly in one of his coat's pocket, I found a pendrive.

Jade: "Great! I finally found something. I need to take this pen drive with me now."

I spent another two minutes, searching the whole cupboard for anything but it was useless. I was little doubtful because it was not necessary that a pendrive would contain the information or clue of what I want.

Jade: "What if this pen drive contains some other documents related to dad's office, then it will be useless for me."

I sighed, but still had hope.

I quickly closed the cupboards and rushed out. I locked the main door with the keys and ran towards my grandparents house. I was curious now whether what can be in this pendrive. As I reached the house, I pretended to be calm and not show any sign of curiosity or create suspicion.

Jade's grandmother: "Where were you Jade"?

Jade: "ummm, grandmother I went to Sebastian's house."

Jade's grandfather: "Ok Jade, fresh up quickly then we will have lunch together."

Jade: "Ok I will be right back."

Jade's POV: I went to my room and locked the door. I opened my pc, entered password and inserted the pen drive. I went to files section to open the contents. The heading said 'Letter'. I opened it and saw that a short letter of about 250-300 words. I started reading it. The letter said:

Dear Jade, It's your mom and dad. We are writing this letter to tell you something. We won't give you this letter. This letter will reach to you if almighty wishes. This is the reason why we are writing to you. If by chance something happens to us then you will have to fight for yourself Jade. Someone is back of us especially you. He wants to take your life to meet his demand. Up till now, we have protected you like a shield and will always continue to if we manage to stay alive. A lot of problems are going to arise dear and there is a big danger to your life. I can't tell you who it is due to a reason but as your parent I will always shield you from all the dangers. Be strong and fight bravely my daughter if the situation worsens. Your mom and dad love you. Stay strong always even if we are not here. Remember, we are always watching you. You are my brave princess and you will be able to get through this. If someday you find this letter, just remember always what I have said. There is someone apart from us who cares for you and loves you like we do. Don't lose that person.
Take care of yourself jade.

Jade's POV: I got emotional and was on verge of crying. There was so much going on. I had mixed emotions. One side of me wanted to know the truth while another side of me was wanting to reminisce all those moments spent with my parents. I was confused not understanding what should I do next. How should I find out the whole truth. I was overflowing with emotions upon reading those words. This was the last words said by my parents. I never imagined I would get to read it. At the same time, I had many questions going on in my head. My parents wrote the letter but they did not clarify their statements. Each statement has a question arising and finding those answers are upon me now. I wanted answers.

Author's POV: Jade was now stuck. She entered in a maze where there was no possibility of returning back and the only way was to find out the correct path. Jade found out the clue but it only resulted in more of questions arising. That day, Jade lost her hope of finding any more clue because the only way she could unveil the truth was asking her grandparents but she didn't. Jade's life took a new turn now. She was no longer living the same peaceful life but a life full of doubts and mysteries.

Why did Jade's parents kept on emphasing the doubt whether they will be alive or not? Were they aware of their destiny? Was Jade really in danger? What were her parents hiding from her? Who was that person who would take care of Jade?

Read the next chapter to find out answers to all these questions and Jade's quest on finding the truth.
