❝ BUT I WATCH YOUR EYES AS SHE! ❞
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ♡︎♡︎♡︎
THREE YEARS HAVE passed ever since I met Ryuhei, and ever since then, life seemed to be a bit less dull. My once grey walls were now covered with pictures of us together, although most of them were him forcing me to smile while my caretaker laughs behind the camera as she takes pictures of us. My mother never went inside my room after the day my father had decided to leave us for good, perhaps it was because I keep reminding her of him.Sometimes, I do regret existing, only because of the fact that I keep unintentionally hurting my own mother. She despised me for I was a spitting image of my father, and I was certain she loved him more than anything in this world. Even more than me.
I held a picture of Ryuhei and I in my hand, smiling as if I could feel happiness. He was doing a peace sign in the picture while I did a thumbs up, his grin reached from one ear to another while I only had my usual poker face. We were at the festival last week, my caretaker decided to bring the both of us there so I can at least experience something fun in this year filled with sorrow and calamities.
Ryuhei kept pointing at random food stalls and asking my caretaker if we could go there, of course, her being her, she kept agreeing, only if she knew I'd enjoy the food in the booths. Most of them were good, I admit, but there were certain exemptions since the food combinations they did was astonishingly bad. Like putting chocolate and caramel on fried squid.
It was the first time I felt mock horror when I bit into the insidious food, Ryuhei was laughing maniacally in the background but then soon enough, he was now choking on fried squid. Courtesy of me.
Then when night struck, we all went to the rooftop of my house, watching the fireworks show there. My caretaker stood quite a few feet away from us as she took pictures and videos, perhaps for me to cherish and some for Ryuhei too. While Ryuhei and I were sitting near the edge, thankfully there was some type of fence that was preventing us from stumbling over and falling to our deaths. It wasn't sturdy enough to climb over too.
The show went on for a good two hours, and the night was spent with one-sided laughter from Ryuhei and a satisfied smile from me. My caretaker kept serving us food while at the rooftop, I was worried she was overworking herself until she served us one final tray filled with store bought mochi and a cup of warm tea. She sat with us at the end of the show and took a picture with the three of us together, they both smiled broadly at the camera while I only lifted the corners of my lips the tiniest bit, resting my head against Ryuhei's shoulder for the picture.
That very picture was with the said blond boy, he told me that he wants to laminate it so it would still be in good condition even when we're older. I believed that and went along, even with his rants.
I usually listened to whatever he wanted to say, especially since there was a lot and it was seemingly never ending. Once, it took me six hours just to make him shut up, but even after twenty minutes, he started to ramble again about some tv shows and whatnot. Although it filled the silence between us, it was quite annoying to hear him repeat multiple things again and again.
