Perfect Coincidences

1 - introduction

1 o'clock was always the busiest. "Harper serve these customers please" my boss said smiling at the happy couple. I served them, sitting them at a table and began to make more coffee.

After a couple of hours it was finally my break. I walked down the street to get some donuts whilst getting my notebook to continue my writing.

Ever since i was little i had hoped to do something with writing, all my teachers loved it. Writing is more of a side job for me but I hope it could
be more one day.

Connor has always believed in me. He has been my number one supporter even since we were little.

I continue my book and before i know it my shift starts again.

I had been working a while until i was greeted by Adam. "hey" he said kissing my cheek. Adam is my boyfriend

"What time do you get off your shift?" he asks handing me some chocolates. "i think around 4, want
to watch a movie after?"

"You read my mind" Adam said leading me out of the shop. "i'll come pick you up at 8 from your place?"

"perfect"

He leaves and i continue working. Before i could do anything i get a text from Connor.

connor: pizza tonight? and your fav movie 😉

Harper: can't sorry going out with Adam tonight, maybe tomorrow?

Connor: oh, yeah sorry tomorrow it is!

i sighed putting my phone away. I'd love to spend time with Connor but Adam thinks there's something going on between us.

There's no way there would ever be he is my best friend. I always tell him he's dulusional but i can never convince him.

Finally my shift is over and i headed home to get ready for tonight. I don't have lots of money so my apartment isn't the nicest but it does the job.

"Harper!" Violet shouts from across the hall. Me and Violet have been friends for a while now. I met her at the coffee shop and it's how i got my job.

"hey Violet" she smiles and waves as she enters her apartment. I finally get in and head straight for a shower.

The hot steaming water trickles down my back and relaxes my muscles.

"Adam wake up" i nudge him trying to somehow wake the beast from his sleep.

We ended up watching Scream VI but Adam fell asleep half way through.
It was safe to say i was scared.

"Hmm" he mumbled picking up some popcorn.

"come on" i sighed looking at him.

It only takes him 10 minutes to comprehend what's happening and he drives me home.

"sorry about today babe" he apologises. "it was a busy day at work" he works in an office so i hear this line all the time.

"it's okay just make sure not to fall asleep next time" i smile giving him a kiss.

"goodnight"

I get back into my apartment and head straight to bed.
