Perfect Coincidences

4 - pancakes

Connor opened the door to his house and we both entered. I love Connors house. It's a decent size but it's very plain.

"thank you Connor" i really appreciate how much he helps me.

"do you want me to set up the guest bedroom?" he asked turning all the lights on.

"yes please" i smiled sitting on the couch.

Connor passed me the remote and i put on netlifx. After a while he came back downstairs with wet hair and some spare clothes in his hand.

"Hey i got some clothes for you" he placed them next to me.

"thanks" i paused the tv and got changed. Whilst i was in the bathroom i grabbed a spare toothbrush and brushed my teeth.

I returned back to the sofa and Connor was sat down with some popcorn.

"what are we watching?" Connor asked.

"Gilmore girls" i sat down next to him and took some popcorn. Connor got in a comfy position then motioned for me to lay next to him. We were both comfy and sat quietly watching netflix. This was perfect.

I had watched a couple of episodes and looked up to see Connor lightly snoring. I smiled. He looks so peaceful and relaxed.

"hey Connor" i lightly nudged him.

"hmm" he murmured.

"cmon bedtime" i said grabbing his hand. He opened his eyes and slowly lifted off the couch. I made sure everything was turned off and then we made our way upstairs.

Before we went into our rooms i stood in front of him. "thank you Connor for all you have done today"

"hey as long as your okay" he smiled rubbing my shoulders. "have a good night sleep" he said smiling before entering his room.

I stood there for a while and then went into the guest room. The room was very pretty. There was a big double bed in the centre with a desk and a wardrobe. The walls were a cream colour and they contrast well with the wood flooring.

I got under the covers replaying the night over in my head. I am so exhausted i eventually drift away into a deep sleep.

The sun is glaring into my room and the sound of sizzling is coming from downstairs. I open my eyes taking in my surroundings. Memories of last night come flooding in and my mood instantly changes.

It'll be so weird without Adam. I grab my phone and delete his number. I can't contact him even if i wanted to now.

I lie in bed for a while relaxing. I didn't have work today so i could take my time. I press the notes app on my phone and start writing some ideas for my book.

I have successfully finished one the other day and i just need to get it to my publisher. My books get a few sells. Enough to keep me afloat. I hope one day i will be more recognised.

I eventually get up. It is 10 o'clock and when i get downstairs Connor is sat on the sofa watching tv.

"good morning" he said looking over at me.

"hey" i said wandering of into the kitchen.

"i left some pancake mix on the side feel free to make one" he shouted.

I do just that. Connor even had some strawberries and chocolate. After i made my pancake i sat down next to him occupying myself with whatever he is watching.

"good sleep?" he says.

"yeah it was okay thanks" i reply with a mouthful.

"i've got to be at work at half 11 so you can do what you want"

"i'll make my way home" i said.

After i ate i went upstairs and got ready. Connor gave me some spare clothes that he had kept from the other times i had been here.

"thank you for letting me stay here Connor" we were just about to leave his house.

"I'm always here for you okay" he kissed the top of my head. "want a ride?"

I nodded.

Soon i arrived back home. As soon as i reached my building i went straight to Violets apartment. I knocked a couple times until someone opened the door. It was Sebastian.

"Oh hey Sebastian is Violet home?"

Sebastian replied "you've just missed her she's gone to the shops"

"oh okay i'll message her thank you!" i smiled and left.

I messaged Violet and told her i need to talk asap. I got into my apartment and headed straight for the shower. I got out and got ready then i sat at the table and got my notes out. I began to start on my new story.

My ringtone going off brought be out of my sleep. I looked at my phone to see Violet calling me.

"hey i just got your message what's up?" she sounded concerned.

"could you come over?"

"of course i'll be round in 10"

10 minutes later i heard a knock at the door.

"hey Violet" she smiled back.

"what's up?"

"me and Adam broke up last night"

She stood still in shock. "wait what. What happened?"

I started to tear up. "well i was waiting outside the restaurant for our anniversary and he never showed. He was getting drunk and somehow Connor found him and he then told me he has cheated on me"

"Oh Harper i'm so sorry" she says hugging me.

We move to the sofa and Violet is saying over and over how she never liked him and that he is a cheating scumbag.

We talk for a long time until we decide to watch a movie. I get lots of snacks and drinks. I felt so much better now that i had got all of that out.

The movie had finished and i look out the window to see complete darkness. Was it really that late?
