Chapter 1

"And then we had Adelaide Thornton and Jason Jacobs the king and queen of kooktopia, but Jason was cool since he is half kook just as Kie is. He normally hung out with us when the kooks weren't looking, not even he's so-called girlfriend Adelaide, well Jason preached about how they had made a deal to only be friends while they faked their relationship, the Pogue's didn't really know where we stood with her.

Kie had always wanted to befriend her but she didn't know how especially since Adelaide was Sarah Camerons best friend, so she just thought it would come naturally, but that's if it ever came.

From my perspective everyone of us had had a crush on her atleast once even Kie said it was hard to be jealous of her I mean look at her, but either way that would never happen at least not with me maybe JJ was probably able to get her up but that my friends was the beginning of something big and special...

"And where might you be going dressed like that Addy?" Sarah questioned her best friend as she noticed that she was leaving the house wearing a black mini skirt and a black crop top with some black flip flops on.

"I'm going to the Kegger aren't you like going there with my brother and your least favorite sibling?" Adelaide responded.

"First of all don't assume things but yes I am going with him and secondly Rafe is my older brother he needs to catch a break sometimes I mean you give him a hard time what did he even do to you?"

Adelaide didn't really have the best relationship with Rafe due to how he rejected her the previous summer, and she herself just wanted Sarah to respect her but if she couldn't she wouldn't be able to tell her why.

Adelaide scoffed before storming out of the house she had decided to take her bike to the Kegger and she was early just what she wanted.

Today was gonna be a day she would try something new... Helping the pogues.

"Adelaide what are you doing here so early?" John B questioned the girl surprised at her presence.

Adelaide put on her billion dollar smile and said "I wanted to help with something you know before the party and also please call me Addy or any shorter name."

John B looked at Kie for help, John B had been to flustered at her comment to even respond so Kie had decided to talk "Well umm there's not much to do just buying some beers so here's the ca-"

"On it I'll be back in a bit." Adelaide disturbed.

"Wait you forgot the cash!"

"It's on me!" Adelaide scram as she walked to the road calling a truck to bring about 100 beers and more.

John B's Pov

Honestly I was in utter shock when a truck came filled with beers this girl has got to be stinky rich to do such but why would she help us out of all people?

"I don't know but I feel like something is going on and Jason needs to see this." Kie spoke breaking my little trans.

I shrugged saying "He would be shocked and think he was dreaming."

One thing about Jason was that he wanted Adelaide as far away from us, I never really understood why especially since he would talk about how nice she was and how she wasn't like the other kooks but that's something he has to deal with himself but I did make note to ask him about that sometime later tonight.

Normal Pov

The barn yard had been filled with people and loud music was played, most were trying to get a single glimpse of Adelaide, but the girl had been too busy engaging in a conversation with some girl until Jason had stormed towards her.

"Why would you buy beer for this?" Adelaide was about to strike up a lie when Jason gave her a look.

Adelaide was shocked at this reaction before she said "Why wouldn't I? I'm tryna leave the stupid kook life you know? Start a new chapter."

"Well, you don't do that by fucking buying beer with KOOK money if that doesn't send red flags?!" Jason whisper shouted.

"So basically, I'm wrong for helping? Fuck Jason so you can be friends with Pogue's, but I can't? Yeah, I've seen you surfing with them I had to spy on you for weeks just to know that, but I guess me being your friend doesn't justify me being mad or what I can't be your friend too?"

One thing about Adelaide was that she never took nonsense as a joke and if you played her she'd ghost you and not just any type of ghosting she would ghost you for years not giving a shit about you unless you were very close to her but that was a different story.

Jason kissed his teeth before locking his fingers with hers "I'm sorry it's just I don't want you to suffer the consequences of being shamed by your mother and yes I know you go to bed crying every single day just because of that asshole of a father and I just don't want my life or my friends ruining or making it worse."

Adelaide had given him a small smile but little did she know it was much deeper than that to him, Jason Jacob's had fallen in love with her and he knew she didn't see him the same way, in fact he had seen her eyeing JJ Maybank multiple times and he only wanted her to have him as the only male person she saw as close as possibly as a lover but he knew this could change, though he just wanted to hold those few moments with her.

"Fine I won't push being around them but please atleast let me try okay?... Okay my sugar and spice?" she said embracing him in a hug.

"Please not in front of everyone it's a you and me thing remember?" to be honest he loved it when she called him that but don't tell her that.

Before Addy could go Jason spoke again "Oh and can we talk later?"

Adeleide smiled before walking towards the bar.

"Well well well isn't it the famous Adelaide Thornton."

"Hey jj can I help you?"

Jj had always had a crush on Adelaide but he couldn't edmit it especially since Jason had made sure the pogues never did.
