You sighed as you stood up. An idea then came into your mind. "I should explore the place.." you say as you pick up the doll your mother gave you. There was downstairs and upstairs, which you haven't explored upstairs yet. You hold on to the doll tight as you walk up the dark staircase, with most of the steps creaking. It just looked like a big attic.

You grabbed the small flashlight that was attached to your key clip, turning it on for it to be slightly brighter. In the middle of the white room, was a box TV and a brown box. You set the doll you were holding down to lean it on the wall, as you investigate the box.

You opened it, all it had in it was a few posters, old valentine's days cards, and probably the best find; a VHS tape. Y/n looked to the box TV, it visually having a slit in it big enough to fit the tape. Y/n smirked as they walked over and crouched down, putting the tape in.

It then began to play...

"why hello, neighbor!" You heard a voice, unsure if it came from the television or behind you. You stared at the screen, it seemed to interest you.. in a way that was hard to explain. The VHS tape continued to play, an episode of a show called Welcome Home played on the screen.

After the episode ended, it went to black. So you sat there, unsure of what to say. It honestly creeped you out. The tape came out of the slit and you stood up, taking it out and stuffing it back into the box.

You at least knew who the doll was. You picked him up with a small smile as you gazed into his eyes. "Why hello, wally." You began to walk away, but a sound from the TV was heard.

Static.

You turned back around, unsure of what to think, you took the VHS tape out. Didn't you? You then crouched down, repeatedly pressing the off button. It had no use.... You sighed, standing up and you turned around.

"Hello, neighbor."

Your eyes widened, you.. there was no tape inside the TV.

"I know you hear me."

You look down to your hands as they begin to tremble. You didn't want to look. You gripped your hands into a fist as you booked it out of there, locking the attic door behind you.

You ran to your bedroom, well.. there was nothing really in it other than a mattress. You flipped on your mattress as you stared up at the ceiling in fear.
What even happened back there?
You watched the movies, read the books...

You weren't going to be like the people in horror books. No way. But you were going to have to leave your room soon enough.

-----

You chose to spend the night in your bedroom with the door locked. You were utterly terrified. You stretched, picking up some clothes and getting dressed.

You walked over to your door, hesitating to turn the lock.
But you did.
You opened the door, and nothing was there. Just your empty House with boxes. A weight of relief washed over your body. You grabbed your keys as you stepped into your car. Your hands were still trembling as they were placed on the wheel.

You had to go to work, but anything could happen while you were away. It utterly terrified you. You started the car and took off, hopefully you'll forget about it while your at work.

You never did.

The whole time while you made coffees, you felt eyes on you. Your manager then came up to you with a worried expression.

"Y/n? Are you okay? Your quite pale, dear.." She asked as she put a hand on your forehead to feel your temperature. "Do you have a fever?"

You shook your head as you shot her a nervous smile. "I'm fine.. just.. stressed.." Your manager gave you a worried face as they hugged you.

"Y/n, I'm worried about you. I think you should go home.. get some rest." She said as she broke the hug. You looked to the ground as you just nodded. You pulled out your flip phone as you called the drug store owner, saying you were sick and couldn't come. Of course they were mad, but probably understood.

You got back home and laid down on your mattress, covering yourself with your blankets. You were so scared..

Why today out of all days?

You began to softly cry, unsure if it was because if you were scared or stressed. Either way, you felt the world kind of caving down on you.

It had been a week since you moved in and you already wanted to leave. You sat in your bed, crying and trying to calm yourself down. You felt pathetic.

Truly pathetic.

You decide to go get some water from your kitchen, you grab a strawberry shortcake glass as you pour the water from the pitcher.   As you felt the cold liquid go down your throat, you heard the upstairs door open.

But didn't you lock that?

You finish your water as you grab your flashlight. Quite literally shaking from fear. You were hearing static. You pushed the door out of the way and the Box TV was on again. You walk up to it and turn off the power, it finally worked this time.

You stood up, flash light in hand. As you felt breathing on your neck. You tensed up as you didn't want to turn around, small tears began to swell in your eyes as the breathing on your neck wouldn't go away.

The breathing stopped before you heard a whisper in your ear.

"Hello neighbor."

Everything then went black.

I only have eyes for you, darling. [Yandere Wally x nonbinary reader]Where stories live. Discover now
