(here is a special chapter in the perspective of Sally! :] Hope you like it!)
Sally rushed back to her house, closing the door behind her before falling down on her knees to cry. She missed Julie so much. Why did she have to die?
After a moment she wiped her tears, as she sat there on the floor of her front door.
She felt lonely, despite her having friends. She wanted Julie back, why couldn't it have been her? Sally decided to talk to poppy, who was currently gardening.
Sally just needed to cry for another few minutes.
---------
Sally began to trail to poppy's garden, with the leaves crunching underneath her as the wind blew harder. She finally reached the entrance to poppy's garden, unlatching the fence to come in.
She gazed around at the new flowers sprouting for summer. Roses, daffodils, lavender, and many other. Bees buzzed around happily in poppy's fairy garden as Sally continued.
She finally reached the colourful bird, who was watering her blueberry bush. Poppy noticed Sally by the leaves crunching, making her turn around with a warm smile.
"Why hello, Sally! What brings you to the garden?" She asks, continuing to water different flora.
Sally seemed shy, she didn't really like to talk about serious stuff. But she sighed with a nervous smile. "Can I talk to you, mom?" Sally asked the bird with a worried but unreadable expression.
Poppy noticed something was wrong, she put down her watering bucket and smile. "Of course, Sally. What's the matter, dear?" The woman asked with a smile as she led Sally to the garden swing in the middle of the garden.
Sally sat down, looking into the field. She was trying to think of what to say, or even make sense of what had happened in the past week.
Poppy put a wing on Sally's shoulder with another warm grin following it. "You can talk whenever, I don't mind how long I need to wait."
The two sat in silence for a while, slowly rocking the garden swing back and forth as the wind blew softly.
"It's not the same without Julie, poppy." Sally said with a small tear running down her sun shaped face. Poppy sighed, continuing to look out in the distance.
"I do too, but we cannot change the past, either." Poppy added, turning her head to see the girl.
Sally's tears seemed to worsen as she looked back to poppy, falling into the birds arms. "But why can't we?! Why did she have to go?!"
The girl cried for what seemed like forever in a grim silence. Poppy knew and understood, she honestly wondered the same question. But poppy also knew Sally was just a kid, who probably didn't understand death all the way, either.
Poppy began to shed a tear and then a few more, to the point where both of them were now balling.
Poppy put her arms around the girl, bringing her into a warm embrace. "How about I cut you a piece of apple pie I just made? It might make you feel better." The bird said while wiping her tears.
Sally looked up to poppy with a soft and tired grin. "I'd love pie."
(Sorry this chapter is so short! But I wanted to make a cute/angst chapter so here we are :] )
