10 years. 10 years since everything happened. The accident.

Mitsuba awoke from what seemed to be the longest nap he'd ever taken, but instead of waking up in his bed he woke up in a hospital room. And worst of all, he couldn't remember a thing.

His mom rushed into the room and grasped onto Mitsuba. He gave her an unknowing look and she understood. "Mitsuba... I'm your mother." She whispered still keeping him in the embrace. "Who's Mitsuba..?" the boy responded, more confusion spreading throughout his body. "Mitsuba is you sweetheart, Mitsuba Sousuke. That's you." The woman said, teary-eyed. All the boy did was hug the woman back.

But that was forever ago. Now, Mitsuba had grown into a young adult, still no memories of anything younger than 13 years of age. He still had the cocky and rude mentality he had before he died, though. But that cocky attitude only hides what he truly misses. His old friends. The only blurry memory he had from before the accident was a blonde haired boy with ocean blue eyes smiling upon him.

A pink blush spread across his cheeks, remembering that always makes him feel funny, for some odd reason.

He was still in college, working to become an actor, and he knew he was a good one too, he never knew why though, as he never really practiced. And this weekend he had his maybe third audition? But anyways, he was excited, maybe even ecstatic.

~Time skip to the weekend~

As soon as Mitsuba stepped foot into the studio, the air felt off. Everything felt off. Maybe it was the way the judges were staring at him, maybe it was the ghostly silence of the stage. He took a deep breath and began to say his lines. He stuttered through a few but then got an ego boost when he realized he knew it all and he had no reason to be scared. He had been practicing for this audition for months. And now the time had finally arrived. Once he had finished the judges erupted with clapping, an applaud in which Mitsuba never thought he needed. Mitsuba smiled from ear to ear, which wasn't very like him. He soon headed off the stage just to bump into someone. "HEY WATCH I-" He started to shriek, but then stopped.

The blonde hair. The ocean blue eyes. Mitsuba knew as soon as he saw the figure that it was him. Mitsuba didn't even remember his name. But he knew. He knew.

The blonde haired boy gave him a shocked look of knowing, and headed onto the stage. The other contestants were crowded around a TV which showed the others performances. A girl rushed over to Mitsuba and complimented his acting. It flustered him a little, considering he wasn't used to this sort of attention. Unless it was from his mom. His mom tried to give him the most attention she could. But she was always working, just to provide for herself and him. This gave Mitsuba to motivation to work harder, to work for his mom, to work for himself. And he knew he could make it.

Once the blonde haired boy had finished, he walked off the stage into the backroom where everyone was still crowded around the TV. He stared at Mitsuba with a wonderous look. Mitsuba walked over to him his cockiness starting to come out as he walked. "Whatcha starin at? Huh? Staring at a cute boy like me?" Mitsuba said quietly so the others wouldn't hear his cocky attitude. The blonde haired boy smiles sadly, "Sorry! I thought you were someone I used to know." Mitsuba just stared back at him. 'Did he know?' Mitsuba wondered to himself, zoning off in the process. "Now who's the one staring?" The boy said with a smug smile.

"Also, my name is Kou! Kou Minamoto." Kou said with a giddy smile. The name Kou sounded familiar to Mitsuba, yet he shrugged it off. "Mitsuba, Mitsuba Sousuke." Mitsuba replied blandly. The boys shook hands and continued on with their lives.

When Mitsuba got home all he could think about was Kou. 'Kou Minamoto...' He thought to himself 'Maybe.. just maybe it could be him..?'.

~

Mitsuba didn't realize how red his cheeks were while thinking about Kou. But his mom sure noticed and smirked at him. "Hm? So who's the lucky girl?" She said, still holding her smirk. Mitsuba was snapped out of his daydream and became even more red. "s-SHUT UP. it's no one." He replied back, earning a giggle from his mother. "Fine, fine pinky." She responded in a certain tone in which Mitsuba couldn't put his finger on.

Soon after dinner, Mitsuba returned to his room, jumping onto his mound of pillows. He again, couldn't stop thinking about this 'Kou' person. He also couldn't stop thinking about how the name was so familiar to him. He decided he would try to figure out why this boy seemed so... familiar to him. He was now determined, he got up and started writing in an old journal of his. 'First off, I'll ask him for his number, say "Hey, you seem cool, wanna hang out some time?" and then second, i'll try to get closer to him'. And that was all Mitsuba could think of in the moment. Which was a good start, he questioned. "Whatever." He said aloud to himself, laying back onto the pillows and blankets.

And as he was still thinking for what seemed to be hours, he eventually drifted off to sleep.

~

It was now the next day, and Mitsuba hoped that he would see Kou again. And to his luck, he did. Not in the best way whatsoever, he bumped into him again. Quite literally.

"Well well, pleasure to meet you here." Kou said with a toothy smile as he got up. He reached out his hand to help Mitsuba up but he just got the response, "Hm, trying to help a cutie like me? I'm sure it's just an act so you can seduce me." Mitsuba said with a cocky smile. Kou rolled his eyes in amusement, "Cmon I would never do that, especially considering we just met yesterday." Mitsuba's cheeks got warm. "Hey uhh, do you think I could get your number, I'm in a hurry right now but I guess... it would be nice to hang out sometime..." Mitsuba said, obviously embarassed. Kou looked absolutely delighted, eyes wide, a toothy grin. "Of course!!" He said, opening up the contacts app on his phone and handing it over to Mitsuba. "Just put your number in there." Kou stated, again, grinning. Mitsuba took the phone from Kou and couldn't help but smile. But when he tried to put his number in a notification came up saying the number already existed in his contacts. Kou saw the notification and gave Mitsuba a look. "So you are who I thought you were." Kou whispered under his breath. Mitsuba heard him, giving a confused look.

"Who?"
