"In every horrific situation, depending on the angle you look at it you may find hope and beauty"
That's what my mother always told me growing up...If only she had known the truth about the world and dangers we do live with.
If only we all knew and not lived so ignorantly we could have prevented any harm coming our way.
Those damn forsaken demons
I couldn't help but bite my tongue at the thought of it all. The blood and the lifeless body of my mother and sisters while my older brother was rocking back and forth in a corner mumbling prayers, as he was covered in the blood and guts of our once loving family. My father at the time had taken me to the village to get coal but we never we're prepared for the blood bath we saw. I may have been young at the time but it still haunts me, knowing I was too weak and naive. It was that day forward my father and brother were never the same, innocent, and loving family I once remembered.
We had moved out of that home and into the strange new village far away and it wasn't until I was about nine did they inform me of demons and demon slayers as well as the history of them. I'm glad they told me but why did it take so long? I was treated like a baby and was sick of it. They knew and weren't gonna tell me or do anything about it!?
It wasn't until I was about 10 did I leave to find a former hashira to train under.
Someone...anyone...
Until finally I had run into a man known as Sakonji Urokodaki the former water hashira. Training was rough for me, but I eventually pulled through for the next five year's training my body and mind and I was finally able to get into the final selection.
It wasn't until I was given a sword to slaughter the very creatures that's murdered my family, I was more then eger to the seven day task.
Thankfully with less then a few cuts and scratches I lived thru it all alone with many other like me and I had officially became a demon slayer.
I grinned at the thought of my accomplishments and how far I have come but it went away as I thought about my family and Urokodaki, I missed them dearly. I'm torn from leaving my father and brother, and missing my teacher.
I wonder what they have been up to these days...
My thoughts wandered as I looked upon a little village from the hill around and ever so slightly above and looking down on it as the sun began to set with such radiant colors of magenta, oranges and a golden yellow as well as being paired with rows of misty looking clouds.
It was almost night fall, the time they come out and devour the innocent...As the sun set and the dime light of the crescent moon lit my way into the entrance of the village, people were widely scattered and making their way home as I patrolled the area and listened for anything. Anything that could indicate something was inhuman.
Damn, nothing
So much for waiting around..
As I finished wandering around the small village it was then I decided to check out the forest near by to just make sure before I left or checked in at an inn.
It was a small hike to the forest with rather tall trees making it rather intimidating to walk through as probably in the daylight demons can roam around. I listen around and it wasn't until I heard another presence, a few to be exact. This was a group of them or maybe a higher ranked demon...
Coming closer to the darker being, I could smell the familiar stench of blood and the sounds of bones snapping and flesh being ripped and eaten like savage animals.
It wasn't until I grabbed the handle of my sword did I hear them snap their heads up and the sound of blood dripping down what I can guess their faces as it was rather dark in the woods.
"Well, well, well. Looks like food came to us finally" a demonic being spoke up as I heard others agreed in unison, I heard them get up and it sound like five different bodies moving around until I heard one leap out in my direction. As quick as possibly could I pulled my sword out and tried the best I could to slice the head off, but missed and cut its left shoulder off. As I could only hear him yell in agony I could sensed two others getting ready to jump at me, I got into position and mumbled.
"Sixth form: Whirlpool"
With the simple spin of my body and blade in hand I could only feel the pressure of something being cut off of them. After having to recover I was able to see my handy work for a second but only to have been tackled to the ground and I felt a sharp pain in my ribs and upper right thigh as I was slammed on the ground.
"Fuck you! Your nothing but a piece of shit you hear!? Nothing-"
Red. Crimson red. It was the only color I truly saw. As I sliced his head clean off
His blood splattered and soaked my upper body. I threw the now bloody demon body off of me and charged at the other three monsters as the began cowering deeper into the woods, even tho I couldn't see them clearly I could hear them very well and was able to catch up to them very quickly and decapitate two of them very quickly but missing the third one as he dodged. But funny for him he dodged right into a tree and collapsed to the ground, cursing at me in the tree"Damn you! Damn you to hell! You rotten scum!"
He continued to scream and curse at me until he spit at me was when I slowly walked over to him with sword ready in hand. He went silent until I crouched in front of him with my deep sea blue blade to his neck."Please...don't do it...have mercy on me!!"
I could help but just stare at his teary eyes and remember he and his buddies tried to kill me moments ago. I was going to just cut his head off but I wanted to say something to him one last time my voice was venom laced and practically dripped off my tongue as I spoke a simple word
"Pathetic"
With that I pressed as hard as I could for my sword to reach the tree he was leaning on and watched the once cruel blood thirsty eyed monster disappear into dust. I was about to kick the remaining dusted parts of him off my shoe but only to come face to face with the ground and the pain began overwhelming me throughout. I had to pick myself up using the trees around me to at least make it to the village, just the entrance to it.
As I stumbled and zigzagged from tree to tree eventually using my now unsheathed sword for balance and eventually I collapsed at the feet of someone.
"Great" was all I could muster before looking up at what it looked like a butterfly haori with brilliant purple eyes looking down on me, and...smiling?
"My my, looks like I'll have to postpone my mission to at least bring you to my estate..."
It was all I heard before my world went black. The new color I could see was black
