When we were told about this mission, we were promised two things: to have the opportunity to make important breakthroughs in finding life outside of Earth... and a large sum of money for our troubles.

But now, as the responses from Mission Control have stopped, I wonder to how much will actually end up in my pocket, if anything. Guess it's partly my fault though, I probably should've known something was off when I noticed half a dozen typos in the contract I glanced over. There was also the fact that there was nothing about this mission in the news, there was no publicity in fact. But with all the money that was promised... I would've been a fool to turn it down.

But now I know I was a fool to accept the offer, as I desperately try to make contact with anyone back home, to no avail.

I look back at everyone else sitting behind me, quickly evaluating each one of them based completely on a glance of no more than ten seconds.
I saw a young man, no more than twenty-five years of age, with long light brown hair parted in the middle. He seemed annoyed, with constant eye rolls and sighing. Looking at him pissed me off.

On his left was a woman who appeared to be in her early thirties. She had long blond hair and looked really good for her age. She had dark green eyes with thick eyelashes and was overall considerably attractive. I found myself looking at her a little longer.

Another man, probably in his early thirties as well, sit quietly on the other sides of the woman. This young man had darker skin and was pretty muscular. He had long black hair that was tied up in a bun on top of his head. Everything about him radiated serenity.

Lastly, behind everyone, was a woman who I guessed was in her late twenties. She had black hair that rested on her shoulders, and large round eye glasses that rested on her small nose. She didn't say anything yet and, I assumed, wouldn't.

After a nonsensical amount of time wasted trying to contact MC I decided to stop and assess the situation. But before I could lay out a single plan, I see it. The land that promised life. The reason we came out here, out of our own solar system. The planet that could change our understanding of life, Theodon.
